I've been struggling with dry skin on my face for years now.

I was given accutane as a teen (a decade ago) and I believe that has permanently affected my skin. I am not sure if this is true but it is my only guess. The issue does not run in my family.

I've tried a lot of things over the years.. they all helped to some degree, but never enough. Including:

olive oil consumption

coconut oil consumption

olive oil soap (most helpful)

shorter, colder showers

skipping washing my face a few times a week

Finally, the obvious solution that I never really tried enough: drinking massive amounts of water.

I've been doing this for the past month and it has helped a lot. HOWEVER, I am drinking a full glass of water nearly every hour, and constantly peeing. It's great to be able to smile without my face hurting, but the constant trips to the bathroom are an issue.

Currently peeing about 10 times a day.

My questions:

How much water should a person drink? (I am 180 lbs)

Could my symptoms be an indication of a different issue?

I personally don't think it's due to dehydration, it's most likely due to some vitamin and/or mineral defiencies. Eat bone broths, wild caught fish, green leafy veggies, eggs and drink herbal tea. Or take a food based multivitamin, New Chapter has some good choices.

Managed it since changing my diet. I'd skip the olive oil and go for more animal based fats like oily fish, butter or ghee, shellfish and as counterintuitive as this may sound... More sun. In my vegan days I drank LOTS of water and it never did anything for me; it's the fats! Vitamin E and magnesium + trace minerals in filtered water might help too.
