JayJay 2012-10-07T03:22:46Z 2012-10-07T03:22:46Z
Seriously what a lot of paleo and all persons miss is that health is physical, chemical and emotional. IF you don't have all three in balance you will not be as healthy as you can be. What modern science can not achieve is accurate measurement of each of these in a consistent manner and with relative knowledge to that persons individual needs.

We are all at the disadvantage of incomplete knowledge....BUT, we try to emulate healthy individuals. Instead of studying disease and illness, we try to ascertain what makes wild humans so darn healthy. What are the common factors among the various tribes that we know of that suffer little to none in the way of cancer, cardiovascular events, diabetes, obesity, and so on....We follow that simple model since biochemistry and our understanding of the human machine is still in its infancy.

Our knowledge does and continues to improve and expand, but not in pace with our processing of food. Its like the old Jurassic Park bit..."yeah, yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should."....that is the state of nutritional science. We have no option but to go back to what use to work.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/154101/is-obsession-paleo/154110#154110 Answer by PhysiqueRescue for Is obsession Paleo? Another definition is that it is a thought process designed to defend against harm in response to dangers that may be encountered in the future.

I dare say that it would not exist if there were no selective advantage for such a trait. OCD type personalities are known for their extreme concern for minutiae and cautiousness.

The inevitable problem that arises is when such evolutionary adaptations clash with modern environments.

However, it should be noted that OCD is also a highly subjective descriptive in the hands of an untrained observer. Under those circumstances diligence, attention to detail and perseverance - all highly valuable traits - can be confused with OCD.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/154101/is-obsession-paleo/154131#154131 Answer by VB for Is obsession Paleo? You don't want to screw up this time.
