So, this is the site of the "Canadian Sugar Institute"

CSI

Seeing as this might be a page that my friends and family get their information from, I wanted to know if it's actually, factually correct. Are there actual scientific studies backing up all of their claims? Scientific studies against what they're saying?? Is there any actual truth when it comes to sugar and it's effects on health?? I'm very confused right now, and I don't know what to believe.

"CSI is funded by Canadian producers of refined cane and beet sugar. CSI member companies include Lantic Inc. (Lantic Sugar and Rogers Sugar) and Redpath Sugar Ltd.

The Institute is directed by an elected Board of Directors, including the CSI President and representatives from each of the CSI member companies. The staff manage the routine affairs of the Institute and regularly report to the Board."

The page is funded by the very people who produce sugar, so why would they say anything bad about it? Don't trust pages like this to have accurate information. It will be biased at best and outright fabrication at worst.
