Easily the biggest noticeable effect of any supplement I've ever taken. </p>
<p>Yoga. Can't believe I ignored everyone who urged me to take yoga all those years, and that I mostly believed the other people who said you couldn't build muscle doing yoga, and that yoga wouldn't help you lose weight. </p>
<p>Butter & coconut oil, & fats in general. Wish I could have back all the years of eating a low fat diet. And a great product for anyone who wants to eat coconut oil plain but dislikes the taste, but finds coconut butter too thick to swallow: mix coconut oil (I like Garden of Life brand, it's not as soapy as some) half & half with Artisana coconut butter. The combo tastes great and is easy to swallow. </p>

<p>Was hard narrowing it down to just 3 until I saw that I can generalize.</p>
<p>I was doing pretty bad right before going paleo, and immediately after. Had acid reflux that wouldn't go away, I was controlling it with an over the counter PPI, but since I had no gall bladder, I'd also get bile reflux if I didn't eat anything, which was worse than the acid reflux.</p>
<p>The breakthrough came from two things: a) cutting out dairy in addition to grains/legumes, and b) taking Now Superenzymes. Turns out I have an issue with cow dairy - even fermented, but not from other critters. Goat, sheep, buffalo dairy work nicely for me, though I rarely consume it, so it's likely an issue with the casein, not the lactose. (It causes a return of acid reflux the same night.)</p>
<p>After that, it was all an easy, fun ride. I lost 29lbs in the 1st year, gained back about 17lbs back - but it was mostly muscle, so I'm happy with it.</p>
<p>Lots of other changes too: Whenever I see a staircase, I don't dread it, it's just a minor annoyance now; where as before it might have been a challenge, I run up it, two steps at a time, and I almost never get winded. I'm even slowly trying to climb up 3 steps at a time.</p>
<p>To the chagrin of the 4-5 jackets and coats in the hall closet, I've developed a resistance to cold. Cold now feels refreshing and welcome, not, well, cold. I can go out in 40'F weather with just a long sleeve shirt.</p>

<p>I find that having a high fat, low carb diet where I am comfortable foregoing meals, drinking butter and/or coconut oil in my morning coffee as a matter of course, not constantly thinking about my next meal or how many calories I am eating (granted in the first few months of transition I did), lifting heavy and knowing I am getting stronger, conscious of stress levels and listening to my body, has all just given me such freedom. Freedom to enjoy life.</p>
<p>If I had to choose 3 things being more specific than all-encompassing Paleo then I would have to say: </p>
<ol>
<li>Paleohacks and The Paleo Solution, which together introduced me to paleo and keep me right</li>
<li>Fat, in all its glorious forms, particularly coconut and my beloved bacon</li>
<li>Lifting to failure, this is such a good de-stressor and I love seeing improvements in my strength and appearance.</li>

2) Not demonizing carbs...I did that for a few months and got way too skinny. Nice to know potatoes and white rice aren't evil like some suggest.
3) Not eating crap...I used to eat one large pizza in less than 24hrs..whole boxes of Mac & cheese, cereal out the ass. I was a nasty kid. Had painful acne all over my back...not anymore. </p>
