<p>I want to be able to eat seasonally with optimal results. Living in Canada, seasonal eating isn't my friend. Assuming the optimal spot to live has changed since Palaeolithic times - due to environmental changes, atmospheric changes, etc. - where would those ideal conditions now exist. Does anyone know?</p>

<p>I live on the west of BC , it is pretty good, there is still seasonal stuff..even in the winter and lots of seafood..but the grassfed beef is really expensive..in site I look at suggested Hawaii but we can't all live there..grass fed and local is the standard there. I can go to the states and get things that are not readily available here...so I vote Vancouver !</p>

Even if our favorite ruminants no longer migrate, different livestock and crops predominate in different areas. You could consult the eatwild.com oracle and plan your vacations accordingly.</p>

<p>I realize there is no optimal spot but some places are easier in finding Paleo friendly options. I live in Seattle and it has been nice having so many places that are familiar with Paleo. There are local farmers markets in every neighborhood that run year round. So many farms are grass fed here and you can get raw dairy items in the local stores. Really makes living Paleo easier. </p>

<p>I would put New Zealand at the top of the list!</p> <p>Grain fed is almost unheard of here (so much so it is labelled and higher prices). And New Zealand has some of the top meat quality in the world.</p> <p>Food labelling laws mean everything must be labelled for what it really is (exception being Vegetable Fat is acceptable instead of the specific type). Allergens must be labelled so if I have a naughty day I can still remain Gluten Free.</p> <p>The country of origin must be listed making eating local easy as you know where it came from!</p> <p>A really strong Crossfit community has meant that some cafe's offer Paleo meals!</p> <p>Home kills are pretty standard outside of the main cities but I know plenty of hunters.</p> <p>A strong community of under 30's have started planting their own vegies and supporting each other, swapping vegies as they want (although a proposed law has threatened this ability).</p>
