I'll entertain all responses, but prefer something that won't break the bank. Plenty of threads with suggestions...I don't need those...only tried and true.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/155839/any-tried-and-true-paleo-ish-trick-or-treat-suggestions/155840#155840 Answer by CD for Any tried and true Paleo-ish Trick or Treat suggestions CD 2012-10-15T11:56:43Z 2012-10-15T11:56:43Z
I picked up a box of Jack Link's beef jerky 50 calorie packs, assorted flavors for $40 (originally $50, $10 off coupon) at Costco this weekend. Not grass-fed certainly, but much better than candy.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/155839/any-tried-and-true-paleo-ish-trick-or-treat-suggestions/155844#155844 Answer by MathGirl72 for Any tried and true Paleo-ish Trick or Treat suggestions MathGirl72 2012-10-15T12:35:49Z 2012-10-15T12:35:49Z
I usually pass out mini containers of Playdoh or Floam. Costco didn't have either this year, so I picked up a box of mini bags of popcorn. Not the greatest, but better than high fructose corn syrup laden candy.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/155839/any-tried-and-true-paleo-ish-trick-or-treat-suggestions/155845#155845 Answer by Poop Master MC for Any tried and true Paleo-ish Trick or Treat suggestions Poop Master MC 2012-10-15T12:38:33Z 2012-10-15T12:38:33Z
I hand out Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, it's one day a year let the kids have some fun
http://paleohacks.com/questions/155839/any-tried-and-true-paleo-ish-trick-or-treat-suggestions/155856#155856 Answer by Monte for Any tried and true Paleo-ish Trick or Treat suggestions Monte 2012-10-15T13:23:58Z 2012-10-15T13:23:58Z
Flint arrow-heads, stones, dog bones, dried bison lung, beef heart chews, fermented fish heads, etc etc.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/155839/any-tried-and-true-paleo-ish-trick-or-treat-suggestions/155858#155858 Answer by KarenOH for Any tried and true Paleo-ish Trick or Treat suggestions KarenOH 2012-10-15T13:27:06Z 2012-10-15T13:27:06Z
A few healthy food ideas: clementines, small bags of dried apple chips, boxes of raisins, snack size bags of almonds, squeeze bags of natural applesauce, larabars. Kind of expensive options though, depending on the amount of trick-or-treaters you get.

Other ideas: non food items such as pencils or little halloween themed trinkets, gum
http://paleohacks.com/questions/155839/any-tried-and-true-paleo-ish-trick-or-treat-suggestions/155861#155861 Answer by Kelly for Any tried and true Paleo-ish Trick or Treat suggestions Kelly 2012-10-15T13:34:02Z 2012-10-15T13:34:02Z
The individually wrapped prunes! You can also make a big batch of spiced nuts and put them in little baggies. Craisins, raisins, and dried fruit. Jerky. Maybe dark chocolate, since it's a once a year thing? That would be easy to find.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/155839/any-tried-and-true-paleo-ish-trick-or-treat-suggestions/155863#155863 Answer by BaconHealsChic for Any tried and true Paleo-ish Trick or Treat suggestions BaconHealsChic 2012-10-15T13:51:03Z 2012-10-15T13:51:03Z
We passed out halloween pencils/pens and yucky, rubber bugs and spiders last year. I'm 24 and love Halloween more and more every year...

That being said, dark chocolate I think is a reasonable option. I tend to give out dark chocolate and vintage candy first. And then I run out and have to go to the store for whatever's left on the shelf at 8pm on Halloween night...

By the way, growing up, non-food treat were a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. I was a practical kid. I had no use for cheap spider rings, pencils, and stickers. I threw them away immediately. Every kid I grew up with felt the same way.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/155839/any-tried-and-true-paleo-ish-trick-or-treat-suggestions/156087#156087 Answer by Wisper for Any tried and true Paleo-ish Trick or Treat suggestions Wisper 2012-10-16T09:14:31Z 2012-10-16T09:14:31Z
Don't be that guy.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/155839/any-tried-and-true-paleo-ish-trick-or-treat-suggestions/156139#156139 Answer by Sally for Any tried and true Paleo-ish Trick or Treat suggestions Sally 2012-10-16T16:33:02Z 2012-10-16T16:33:02Z
Our first year doing paleo, I wanted to give out clementines, but my husband was sure our house would get egged if we didn't give out candy. I filled a bowl half with Reese's cups and half with clementines that I had painted to look like jack-o-lanterns and let kids choose. The clementines were gone WAY before the Reese's. I try to do that every year now.
