What's the highest DHA+EPA Fish Oil on the market?

I'm looking for a very High count of DHA+EPA Fish Oil in capsule form. I know StrongerFasterHealthier has some really high quality product, but they are very expensive. Are there any other quality fish oils out there?

Perhaps the biggest bang for your buck will be found with the Puritan's Pride triple strength fish oil. It has almost one gram of EPA/DHA per 1,300 mg capsule. If you look at mg EPA/DHA per penny, you'll find this is the best deal (along with the Sam's Club triple strength fish oil, if you're a member). Note that my request for a COA (Certificate of Analysis--independent verification of freedom from toxic metals, freshness and so on) was denied by Puritan's Pride. This is not uncommon, perhaps, but disconcerting to me nonetheless. My doctor points to a study by Consumer Labs which found the Puritan's products to be "clean."

Another high-value fish oil is Country Life, Ultra Omega. Lots of EPA/DHA per penny. Again, COA request refused by company.

Omega Maine makes my favorite (and relatively expensive) oil. It has the highest EPA/DHA content you'll find and they sell a liquid oil in 300 mL containers that is completely flavor-free (no lemon, etc.). You know that the stuff is fresh because there is absolutely no taste. They sent me a COA!

He recommends Jarrow capsules, among other things that I don't remember, and also a nice (expensive) salmon oil, which I've never tried.

The good thing about the Country Life, Omega Maine, and Jarrow formulas is that these companies explicitly state that the products are soy free. As a soy-allergic individual this is rare. Personally, I believe that most fish oils that are distilled will be soy-free (the potential for contamination comes from soy-derived vitamin E) but it's nice to have confirmation of this. Also, some fish oils (e.g., Barleans) actually add soy. Blech...

You might find this interesting: Fish Oil DHA/Cost. You'd have to research the brands yourself with respect to COA etc I was essentially interested in the most cost efficient way to get DHA and I just did brands that seemed to be recommended on the web. There is other stuff to take into account than what is on the spreadsheet too - for example some brands might have a low cost per DHA but if you have to take 20 capsules to get it then you're also getting a lot of other stuff. Anyway, if you find it interesting go nuts :)

You can also get it here as an excel spreadsheet so you can sort it etc yourself.

I use blue ice fermented cod liver oil. It's amazing quality. Fermented is better.

Dr. Murray's Natural Factors RxOmega-3 liquid contains 2630mg of EPA and 750mg of DHA. I keep looking but can't find anything that even comes remotely close to that.

WOW, I just discoverd this stuff http://www.edelweissimports.com/sf-cod-liver-packed-in-oil-pr-145.html. and found an excelent pubmed article: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11890054. At $2.69 for a 120g(4.2oz) here in Canada, I am going to start eating this regularly. I find that it has a very neutral/natural taste compared to straight CLO. Maybe its just that I have had rancid CLO before, but the cod liver packed in its own oil was awsome.

If you look at the Pubmed article I cited you will see that per 100g tin there is approx. 48.5g avg. of omega3's. Of that; over half(26g) is DHA. When you consider how much fish oil capsules you would need to equal that, eating a tin of liver with oil a few times a week would be cost effective. A rough calculation based on the averages of the pubmed tests, my can of cod liver in its own oil comes to $0.09/g of DHA.

I second the fermented. Another thing to keep in mind are synthetic vitamins. Most fish oils now have the A and D replaced with synthetic.

I use fish oil with TCP coctail by Synergytech. 2 Tbspoon liquid contains 1829 mg EPA, 1148 mg DHA.

I have been using Genuine Health Omega 3 plus Joy. The epa is in the 2200 plus range for inflamation and would be interested if others have tried it and how yhey like it.
