Hack my D-D-Diet - PaleoHacks.com most recent 30 from http://paleohacks.com 2013-05-24T11:15:34Z http://paleohacks.com/feeds/question/156770 http://www.creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/2.5/rdf http://paleohacks.com/questions/156770/hack-my-d-d-diet Hack my D-D-Diet shtove 2012-10-19T18:04:45Z 2012-10-20T13:40:01Z <p>Been paleo style for about 8 months now.</p> <p>Lost maybe 15 pounds, feeling healthy etc.</p> <p><strong>Breakfast:</strong> 1/2 tumbler of coconut flesh mixed with 2 raw egg yolks, pinch of turmeric (+ ground black pepper), splash of Polish kefir, spoon of probiotic full fat yoghurt.</p> <p><strong>Lunch:</strong> beef and tomato meatloaf (150g, not pastured, 20% fat), with unpasteurised cheese on top + 3 tablespoons of veg mash (steamed sweet potato and carrot, lots of butter) + thin slice of blue cheese. </p> <p>Once or twice a week I have 200ml of soured cream instead - simple substitute.</p> <p><strong>Dinner:</strong> Varies alot - sirloin steak/duck breast/salmon fillet (twice a week)/beef stew/bacon omlette/beef liver &amp; bacon (once a week). Sometimes I have the veg mash on the side, other times fried mushrooms. All fat consumed.</p> <p>On the liver - I have made pate, which is very good, and eaten a bit every day with lunch. I prefer that to taking the weekly liver in one go, but not doing it at the moment.</p> <p>I take about 2 medium potatoes on the weekend - not fries.</p> <p><strong>Oils for cooking</strong> - strictly butter ghee and refined coconut oil. Some butter and cold olive oil FCP. If I come across suspected omega-6 I try to balance out with a cod liver oil pill.</p> <p><strong>Also on daily basis:</strong> Salt - probably 1/2 teaspoon of sea crystals. 1/2 teaspoon virgin coconut oil while brushing teeth. Water - 1.5l. Mug of coffee with 10g of 85% chocolate and dash of cream. 1/2 tumbler beef broth.</p> <p>Lately I've stopped fruit &amp; green veg. No nuts.</p> <p>Calories don't bother me, nor ketosis. Just wondering if this has nutritional balance. I know opinions vary on dairy and on carbs.</p> <p>Bit longer than I expected. Comments welcome.</p> <p>edit: Only added sugar is dextrose in home-made ice cream, one bowl a week (or three). Fructose is a NO.</p> <p>Alcohol: vodka, wine - sweetness minimised, ie.
