So I've found recipes for butternut squash dip, buffalo chicken meatballs, nut-crusted bacon that I'm going to try. I've also been experimenting with a savory pumpkin casserole of my own creation. Need to attempt a few more versions before the big day.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/156885/2012-thanksgiving-any-new-delicious-items-youve-come-across-in-the-past-year/156953#156953 Answer by paleoprimal for 2012 Thanksgiving - Any new, delicious items you've come across in the past year that you plan to incorporate in this year's menu? paleoprimal 2012-10-20T13:58:42Z 2012-10-20T13:58:42Z
I am making a modified sweet potato casserole. roasted sweet potatos, rind of two large oranges, juice of two oranges but I will simmer them to concentrate the flavors. cinnamon, nutmeg, butter, cream, coconut oil maybe to get the consistancy I want. Possibly two eggs to firm it up and then roasted pecans (roasted with butter and maple syrup) sprinkled on top.

6 large sweet potatoes (like restaurant baked potato size) rinds of two navel oranges juice of two navel oranges (concentrated by simmering until sticky) 1 stick of butter 1/4 cup cream coconut oil to correct consistancy spices to taste two eggs 2 c roasted pecans (butter and maple syrup)

bake 350 for 45 min. adding pecans in last 10 min or so of baking.
