What are you eating most days to meet your macros?

Are you eating lots of fatty meat, or eating moderate fat meat and eggs and then adding fats to them like olive oil, nuts, butter, etc? I'm not quite sure if I'm doing this right. I eat scrambled eggs with fruit in the morning and then salads for lunch and dinner, with a snack in between like a Greek yogurt, fruit, or nuts. THe meats I use are typically canned tuna, salmons, or sardines, grilled chicken, pork, or beef. I don't think these are particularly fatty sources. What do you eat every day to meet your macros?

Veggies vary by availability. I only add enough fat (butter, coconut oil, lard) to cook with. I eat fruit and starch sparingly mainly because I'm just not a fan taste wise.

Your just gonna have to play with things until you find your own niche. Its about both taste and health. Just experiment and enjoy!

I do have butter, tallow, lard, olive oil, and coconut oil around for when the occasion calls for adding fat to something. Like steamed broccoli. Mmmmmm!

Every day, I will eat eggs, meat of some kind, dairy of some kind, nuts, green veggies, a starch of some kind. A normal day might look like this:

Breakfast: eggs cooked in butter. Usually with sauteed greens and possibly mushrooms and bacon if we've got 'em. Usually I'll drink water or tea with it but sometimes I drink raw milk.

Lunch: random things. 1-2 times a week I eat sardines, usually with homemade almond flour crackers. Sometimes it's a soup with leftover shredded chicken, whatever veggies I've got lying around, and copious amounts of homemade chicken stock. Or leftovers. Or sometimes I skip this meal altogether, since I don't get a chance to stop for lunch until about 3pm every day.

Snack: Varying combinations of cheese, fresh or dried fruit, and nuts/nut butter.

Dinner: Meat with a vegetable (usually green) and often a starch of some kind (potatoes and rice are common).

For my main meals I eat some variety of a salads. Lately I've been eating arugula salads with goat cheese and kiwi slices...possibly some walnuts. I also like to eat salads with grilled chicken or fish on top of them. For snacks I do Greek yogurt, fruit, and/or nuts as well. The only time I cook with added fat is like when I'm sautéing vegetables in olive oil or searing scallops in butter. That's pretty much it except for the rare cheat like a milkshake or ice cream, sorbet, etc. I usually dress salads with EVOO and lemon juice.

Mid-morning I had a latte.

Late morning I went to the gym and did a heavy workout, so after that I ate some carbs. Porridge made with water and coconut milk & a teaspoon of honey.

Late afternoon I had 4 slices of bacon and a couple of pears.

This evening I had roasted seasonal veg (beetroot, squash, carrots, onions, olive oil salt & thyme) with a small rump steak and a pork belly rib.

Most days I have some double cream & fruit. But the latte has probably provided me with my dairy quota today.

Lunch consists of a spinach salad and whatever protein I have left over from the previous night's dinner (beef or chicken). I try to eat eggs cooked in beef pemmican every two days. Dinner is a protein with some non starchy vegetables. I also try to eat a handful of Brazil nuts everday

I occasionally have a sweet potato PWO at night.

Lunch: Leftover meat or country paté or liverwurst or greek yogurt, often 1/2 an avocado, apple or Asian pear & cheese, small amount of chocolate

Dinner: Salad (often w/ roasted beets & goat cheese) or veg, meat, often 1/2 a baked sweet or white potato, usually another piece of fruit & sometimes more cheese, once in awhile white rice instead of the potato

Averages out to about 28% carbs, 18% protein, the rest fat. I rarely snack but if I'm hungry between meals I might have a latte or chai tea w/ milk, and sometimes a big spoon of coconut oil mixed w/ coconut butter, and sometimes a small handful of nuts.

http://paleohacks.com/questions/158293/what-do-you-eat-almost-every-day/158350#158350Answer by Karen for What do you eat (almost) every day?Karen2012-10-27T00:20:59Z2012-10-27T00:20:59Z
There aren't any "paleo rules" about macro percentages. Paleo does tend to be a lot lower carb percentage than the SAD, simply because it eliminates a pile of carbs with the elimination of grains, legumes, and sugars. But paleo is not necessarily a low carb diet. The preferred or best ratios will vary from person to person depending on weight, metabolism, age, activity and other factors. Big, broad generalizations: overweight or obese or metabolism problems - eat less carbs, more fat. Active, young and growing - eat more carbs. Some people don't concern themselves with macro percentages at all.

I personally stay on the low carb end, but that's because of my needs. Grass fed meat, eggs every day, salmon, other fish. Occasional pastured pig, rarely poultry. Loads of green leafy veg. Lots of not starchy veg. Avocados, coconut oil or milk, butter, olive oil. Some fruit, usually one serving a day, staying with what's in season. Some nuts - mostly almonds. Sweet potatoes for a starch. Lots of water. Tea, coffee w/ heavy cream. Hard cider or wine or dark chocolate for a treat. YMMV

My ratio is 60:35:5 = fat:protein:carbs.
Sometimes red dry wine or vodka (rarely) — those drinks are paleo.
No fruits, no grains, no legumes.
Feeling so great!
