The paleo lifestyle has been a journey for me, but one thing that got me started was when I felt hungry or had cravings, I would eat a spoonful of coconut oil mixed with something (b/c I didn't like the taste by itself). It helped me feel satisfied and full, and I started to loose weight. Unfortunately, after a few months I started having increased liver area pain. At one point I even had a gallbladder attack (rather painful!). An ultrasound showed that there were no stones.. I continued to have pain until my acupuncturist casually mentioned that coconut oil thickens things up in the liver and gallbladder. When I stopped using coconut oil my liver area pain decreased, but my cravings increased and the satisfied full feelings decreased. So now what? What can I use instead that's quick, get's rid of cravings and makes me feel satisfied after a meal?

Personally, drinking a sweet tasting herbal tea after a meal really helps my satiety. Cinnamon tea, licorice tea, ginger, lemongrass. Finding that out taught me that sometimes, cravings and lack of satiety were not related to caloric or nutritional needs.
