Geoff 2011-02-20T18:50:19Z 2011-02-20T21:58:08Z
I seen a number of posts on here in regards to low testosterone (mine included) and was wondering if anyone has tried the anabolic diet? You can do a Paleo version of it and it basically a more sophisticated version of carb cycling. Looks interesting...

http://stronglifts.com/anabolic-diet-101-the-definite-anabolic-diet-guide/
http://paleohacks.com/questions/24016/has-anyone-done-the-anabolic-diet/24022#24022 Answer by Stephen-Aegis for Has anyone done the Anabolic Diet? With paleo foods it works just fine.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/24016/has-anyone-done-the-anabolic-diet/24028#24028 Answer by Harfatum for Has anyone done the Anabolic Diet? Harfatum 2011-02-20T21:20:28Z 2011-02-20T21:52:45Z
I've been on a targeted/short cyclical ketogenic diet for a month, and my blood pressure has slightly improved but my lifts (old Stronglifts program) have actually made negative overall progress despite the fact that I have only lost 0-2 lbs. YMMV.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/24016/has-anyone-done-the-anabolic-diet/24029#24029 Answer by haig for Has anyone done the Anabolic Diet? haig 2011-02-20T21:42:41Z 2011-02-20T21:42:41Z
I did this inadvertently in high school by eating only protein during the week then pigging out on junk on the weekends--I stayed pretty lean but if I were to try it again now that I know how and why to eat healthy I'd skip the junk and do it purely paleo.

Monday-Friday: High-fat, moderate protein, low carb:: meat, seafood, eggs, butter, cheese, cocoonut oil, green veggies

Saturday/Sunday: High-carb, low-protein, low fat:: Tubers, fruits, vegetables, rice (if you include it)

To my naive anthropological mental model it feels more like the way a paleolithic hunter-gatherer would eat, though I could be wrong. After a successful hunt, they'd eat nothing but the kill for days, then they'd switch to gathered tubers, fruits, nuts until the next successful kill. Plus, this way of eating also cycles protein, which has been shown to have health/longevity benefits (maybe because this is how we evolved to eat?).
http://paleohacks.com/questions/24016/has-anyone-done-the-anabolic-diet/24030#24030 Answer by Jeff for Has anyone done the Anabolic Diet? Jeff 2011-02-20T21:58:08Z 2011-02-20T21:58:08Z
aside from diet, are you currently lifting weights? Multi-joint exercises (with heavy weights) like the squat, deadlift, and press, should do good things for your testosterone levels.
