Just ran into someone else, like me, for whom eating Paleo has "cured*" them of migraines. So question is:

1) If you have suffered from migraines, has eating Paleo stopped their occurrence?

2) If the answer to 1) is yes --- what color are your eyes? This is not a joke. Serious question.

*I write "cured" because in my case I am convinced that eating gluten caused them.

I write "almost" because she told me that she had the symptoms of a coming migraine a couple of times or so, but she blocked them with pain killers. She doesn't know the reason, maybe some gluten (or some other foods she is sensitive to) sneaked in her diet.

Her eyes are hazelnut.

EDIT: my sister doesn't eat paleo at all, lots of gluten-free grains, legumes, dairy...

Started low carb about four years ago, and that alleviated but did not eliminate chronic daily headache and migraines. I was largely eating a fat, meat, and vegetable low carb diet, but influenced by Paleo thinking I eliminated the odd gluten item about 6 months ago. No difference in headaches. So not cured. Maybe because my eyes are brown?:)

I've had migraines all my life, but not that frequently, maybe one every year or two. When I do get them they are TERRIBLE BAD - blind spots, light sensitivity, nausea, severe pain - they basically take me out for a good 8 hours or so and all I can do is lay in bed.

The good news is I haven't had a single migraine since going paleo about a year ago. Because my migraines have been so infrequent, I can't say for sure they are "cured" but I sure hope so.

Had massive problems with migraines this past summer, being a expedition sea kayaking guide and paddling 5 to 8 hours a day meant high levels of exposure to sun glare. Even with polarized expensive sunglasses and a big hat I would get them. My migraines are crazy painful and make me throw up every 10 minutes for 5 hours or so.

My migraines seemed to be tied to sun glare but I was also eating TONS of carbs like 200+ g/day due to the limiting factors of eating on expeditions. Try eat paleo for a 5 day trip on which you must- fit everything in a kayak, you can only cook dinner- breakfast and lunch are open and eat, and of course it's 95+ degrees out and no refrigeration. pretty tough. Needless to say I ate lots of processed foods and lots of grains.

The weird thing is that I didn't have any problems the previous summer doing the exact same thing and eating the exact same foods. I don't know if there was some sort of hormone change or what.

Since going paleo, I've only had one migraine which I tied to dehydration and killed with lots of painkillers but I haven't spent long days exposed to high levels of sun glare. I'm curious to see if I still get migraines on a kayaking trip while eating paleo.

Also, I have blue eyes.

Through muscle-testing I found out they were largely due to gluten & dairy. I started eating Paleo 18 days ago and had one headache try to start but I could tell that was due to muscle-spasms (multiple whiplash injuries from car accidents when I was a little and one last year wherein I was rear-ended pretty hard.
