What do you eat on the trail? tartare 2011-05-04T18:24:04Z 2011-05-04T18:24:04Z <p>pemmican (us wellness), hard salami (columbus cacciatore), prosciutto and hard boiled eggs (i leave them in their shells), keeps you going all day long and no need for refrigeration, though the eggs will probably only last 48 hours, everything else is good for week +. Fresh eggs can be left unrefrigerated for upwards of 5 days but, I'd be worried they'd break. I pack in herbs and spices in case we catch some fish (I'm an optimist, not a realist). We also usually bring some hard(ish) cheese. You could bring a can of nice sardines.
