So...I know most of the curly haired brethren, and i mean curly( not slightly curly, wavy, curled at the tip, styled with a curling iron, etc.) have had a fantastic romance with what you call conditioner. But since condemning shampoo to the bottom of the sink behind the leaky pipe ive been looking for ways to tame the mane. I mean I dig the whole Jayden Smith-going-rasta vibe but Im just looking for some post-shower/dry treatment? the extra frizz takes away depending on the setting. I got a wedding coming up, mad females (domesticated tho, meaning not paleo) and Im not trying to cave, man...get it, caveman?

Yeah.. Kinky Curly curling custard or knot today leave in. They sell it at whole foods.

The ingredients on the curling custard are:

Botanical infusion of water, horsetail, chamomile, nettle and marshmallow, organic aloe vera juice, agave nectar extract, tocopheryl acetate (vitamin e), pectin, citric acid, potassium sorbate and natural fragrance.

Knot today leave in is similar, but a little thinner. IMO, curling custard is better for really curly, knot today is better for wavy.

ive got some frizzy, fine, kinky curls (type 3b, for those in the know). i have NOT had good luck with no poo. makes my hair feel like a dead dog and my hair is too curly for the scalp oils to travel well down the hair shaft. brushing makes me look like jimi hendrix. i really like using the aubrey organics island naturals cleanser and conditioner. for styling, i LOVE this stuff. bonus is the lavender keep mosquitoes away. in theory.

Ingredients: Water, Coconut Oil (organic), Ethanol (denatures with Organic Lavender Oil), Jojoba Oil (organic), Hemp Oil (organic), Quillaja Extract (organic), Tocopherols

ETA: i forgot to add THIS STUFF that is made by this woman jamyla, a friend-of-a-good-friend. AMAZING for "ethnic hair", and a totally bad ass woman. support her business if you can! her stuff is top notch and priced really well. for example, one of her leave in conditioners ingredients list is:

purified water infused with horsetail, lavender, nettle, roses, and chamomile; organic flaxseeds; aloe vera juice; vegetable glycerine; essences of lavender, sweet orange, ylang ylang; grapefruit seed extract; citric acid, fragrance. It is naturally preserved with grapefruit seed extract and citric acid.

coconut oil, just rub it in. jojoba is even lighter than coconut but will keep frizz at bay

argan oil is great for this. it's the main ingredient in moroccanoil but you can find the organic pure version for less on amazon and ebay...

I do use shampoo once a week, and condition daily(I use Aubrey Organics GPB conditioner and the Jojoba shampoo)...haven't had good luck with giving it all up...but in lieu of styler, I use either aloe vera, or coconut oil, or Jojoba oil...Go real easy on the oils, but they do tame the frizz.
