This not a snarky question, but the result of reading an article on sustainability tactics in the Scandinavian capitals. There is a interview with a family in Stockholm trying to reduce their carbon footprint to one ton per person per year, quote "One thing that really is difficult, however, is having to do without meat." The article follows with mention of a Carnegie Mellon study on the adverse effects of eating red meat and dairy on carbon footprint.

Most of the article deals with programs for energy conservation in heating and transportation, but this is the first time I've seen meat avoidance recommended as a way to reduce global warming.
