Azalea 2011-09-12T14:46:29Z 2011-09-13T04:51:56Z
Hello All:

I am embarking on the Paleo 30-day challenge on Mark's Daily Apple. A part of the routine is to do two total body weight listing sessions a week. I am not that knowledgeable about weight-training and would prefer to just buy a exercise DVD that can truly challenge me that I can do twice a week. Do any of you have a suggestion?

THANKS!!
http://paleohacks.com/questions/64384/total-body-weight-lifting-dvd-suggestions/64386#64386 Answer by Cory151 for Total Body Weight Lifting DVD Suggestions? It's got everything you need to know, focusing on the 5 essential movements of squats, push-ups, pull-ups, planks, and overhead presses. There's even a self-assessment that can help you get started with each movement.

You don't really need to know anything else about weight-training if you check out the book and the online how-to videos. Enjoy!
http://paleohacks.com/questions/64384/total-body-weight-lifting-dvd-suggestions/64393#64393 Answer by none for Total Body Weight Lifting DVD Suggestions? none 2011-09-12T15:46:42Z 2011-09-12T15:46:42Z
Save your money for good food! THe internets is great because there are a lot of free workout out there, like this one! http://www.bodyrock.tv/

WAIT - I read this wrong, I thought you said 'bodyweight" not full body weight lifting. Andy Welch 2011-09-12T16:39:44Z 2011-09-12T16:39:44Z
If you have gym access... learn to squat, dip (or bench if you can't dip), dead lift, Clean and jerk (or overhead press if you can't C&J), and Row... That's all you need. Then put together a 5x5 routine ala Bill Starr. If you need help setting it up, go to my web site and read, instructions are there for free... even though I'm in the fitness business and get paid to set up workouts and nutrition plans for athletes...I tell people how to do it themselves for free too.

If you don't have gym access...check out Ross Enamit's "Never Gymless"... or go to his web site, rosstraining.com or rossboxing.com both are very good and promote bodyweight workouts. Inferior to weight training IMO but still very effective.

Good luck to you.

And yeah, you don't really have to buy anything as far as books or DVDs etc...you can do what I've suggested for free if you have gym equipment or access to a real gym. Books and DVDs can make it easier though.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/64384/total-body-weight-lifting-dvd-suggestions/64441#64441 Answer by maurile for Total Body Weight Lifting DVD Suggestions? maurile 2011-09-12T21:42:39Z 2011-09-12T21:49:49Z
Here are some bodyweight training DVDs.
