Does anyone have any suggestions for minimalist shoes for kids? I love Vivobarefoot but can't bring myself to pay $75 for a pair of shoes she will grow out of in 6 months.

And you can find them even cheaper on ebay sometimes too

They're nice people, and make a quality and affordable shoe. http://www.softstarshoes.com/index.cfm

They retail at $60 but a coupon voucher deal I used brought them down to $34.95, shipped. With the holiday season deals coming around you can probably get a pair of kids' Merrell barefoot shoes for a fairly deep discount if you shop judiciously.

I bought some for my daughter when she was younger and I wear mine all the time. Most are under $30.

Under safe conditions obviously. Although baby feet might be a tad more delicate than I remember.. :)

We love each other fantastically. I wear Vibrams, he wears Tony Hawk skaters. I momentarily was tempted to try to convince him that he should wear Vibrams, too. But, hey, he's 12. Being cool is really a high priority. Toe shoes aren't "cool." Not now, anyway.

They're minimal enough and he like the look of them. My younger son will wear anything as long as it has a Hot Wheels/Lego/Star Wars logo. Are you listening Vibram?
