Okay, 10 months Paleo, 40 pounds lighter, feeling great, I mean great! I've been doing stretching and 50 push-ups to start every morning and 2-3 sets of pull-ups/chin-ups during my day. I've set up a mini cross fit gym in my basement with free weights, bow flex and elliptical, but I can't get started! How do I jump start the next important phase of my life here? I need your help in how you got in the groove, what motivated you to shut off the laptop and just do it, where do you get your motivation?

Or am I gonna be strong? I always regret NOT working out, but I never regret it when I do. The worst part is getting up and actually getting started. But once you start doing it, it's easy to keep going.

I've learned that I need people -- join a CF box near you. I love CF, but I know I wouldn't have the self-discipline to do it alone consistently.

I used to go to a CF gym. Now, some of the guys I met there have my garage decked out with quite a bit of equipment. Unfortunately, I've gotten to where I don't like working out by myself. I can do it, but it really takes me kicking myself in the butt to get started. Do you have a family member or friend who you can pull along with you? If not, maybe you have a friend who does workout regularly that you can email your workout results to (similar to "posting" on a crossfit board) in order to keep yourself accoutable.

I find gyms annoying. I hate waiting for machines and the last thing I want to do when I'm working out is talk to people...I mean anybody at all. So if your like me you have to be self motivated. No problem, its like one other poster said just get started. Get in your workout gear and JUST START. Once I've begun a workout I never have stopped half way through (well except in cases of severe injury :)). Music can be motivating too. Get the Vision Quest(movie like 1985) soundtrack...THAT SOUNDTRACK ROCKED! Crank it man!
