<p>I've decide to supplement DHEA 50mg daily based on my test results. I'm post/menopausal and my levels are characteristically low. Anyone have any information on what I can expect in terms of effects? Are they noticeable? Also how often should I retest?</p> <p>If I start growing a beard I shall stop supplementing immediately!</p>

For that reason I would not recommend starting at anywhere near a 50 mg/day dose. It also tends to raise estrogen levels, something potentially beneficial post menopause, but undesirable for most males.</p> <p>Dr. Ray Sahelien was once one of the strongest proponents of supplementing this hormone, even authoring "DHEA, A Practical Guide" in the mid 1990s with a suggested 25 mg/day dose.
