I have a prof who smokes before class and I have to smell his pungent smoker musk all class long. As a result, I get headaches.

Anyone have ideas to solve this? I was thinking of masking the smell by chewing gum or bringing an air freshener.

Or do you mean he smokes elsewhere prior to class, and then he comes to class reeking of smoke?

If the former, is it not against school rules for him to do that? If yes, report him.

If the latter, your sensitivity to the lingering smoke odor is comparable to sensitivity to someone else's perfume. Probably not much you can do.

It should kill the smell, but has it's own issues. Not exactly cheap either. Really just depends on which is the worse choice for you.

Mention the headaches. It could be as simple as the prof being asked to change his smoke break time until after he's done with your class.
