So all my life as long as I can remember I have received nose bleeds.
You could barely tap my noise and I would start bleeding.
In the winter if I scratch my noise it starts bleeding.

Anyone have any solutions or ideas why my nose bleeds so easily?

25 Male Caucasian, Paleo has not stoppped them.

I went through a spell of nosebleeds in my teens and my doctor recommended vaseline, but i'm not sure that's Paleo... maybe coconut oil?

I used to get tons of bloody noses as a kid, and a humidifier helped a lot. Luckily, I grew out of the problem.

When I lived in Colorado, the extremely dry air was hell, but dust mites can't live in such dry places, so zero sneezing was the awesome trade off, I used saline nasal spray to keep the nasal passages moist.
Medicinal nasal sprays make me susceptible to getting a bleeder,
Going paleo has done diddly squat to rectifying the situation has done nothing for my hayfever, paleo doesn't fix all ailments and issues.
As to why your nose bleeds so easily. If you are like me then the skin /nasal membranes are very thin inside your nose, the blood vessels are very close the surface and you are just naturally susceptible to getting nose bleeds especially if your nose dries out, keeping your nose moist is about the only thing that is simple and effective.
Worse one I can remember was at the end of a long haul flight and it started and would not stop, I thought Iwas going to bleed out.
Keeping a small pack of tissues on hand is always useful too.

1) Non-acidic vitamin C, such as Ester-C as a supplement has completely cured frequent nosebleeds for a lot of people I know.

2) Using a little coconut oil inside your nose every single day helps the tissues stay healthy and not crack in dry weather.

3) Try being super diligent about allergens, including dust, animal hair, any food sensitivities, and any sort of chemical sensitivities such as colognes, perfumes, detergents, etc. I have a friend who discovered the yellow coloring in food (annatto) caused her lifelong nosebleeds... so sometimes you have to do some serious digging.

Got her nose cauterized years ago. Voila. Problem solved. She doesn't get nose bleeds anymore. (My dad never had this procedure done, and I still sometimes show up at his house to find him with tissues shoved up his nose.)

I had to get my nose Cauterized in order for it to stop. When I was in my 20's, I discovered I had Celiac Disease. Now I'm a paleo nutritionist. While in my nutrition studies, I discovered that these nose bleeds I had as a kid were likely related to a vitamin K deficiency, due to the malabsorption and gut issues I was having. Here's one link, but if you google "celiac nose bleeds" you'll turn up lots of info.

Basically, heal your guts and possibly turn to cauterization to stop it. Bone broth and lots of sauerkraut.

http://paleohacks.com/questions/92875/nose-bleeds-since-forever/92993#92993Answer by Matt for Nose Bleeds...Since ForeverMatt2012-01-26T15:30:53Z2012-01-26T15:30:53Z
20+ years of experience with nosebleeds here. I've had nose bleeds that have bested Bounty paper towels! (I measured it once, nearly a pint!)

I've seen a ENT doc and after a look in my nose, he noted that I have extensive vasculature near the surface. He recommended either thermal or chemical cauterization. I never got around to making an appointment for that. At the same time, I consulted with a old pharmacist friend (who in contrast to recent pharmacist graduates, actually knows stuff!). He recommended B Complex with C and Zinc. I tried the vitamins and it worked. A little bit of saline nasal spray when I feel dry helps as well. I still get them on occasion, but it's more in response to allergies and irritants, than day-to-day activies.

I just saw the salt pork remedy for nosebleeds yesterday, pretty crazy, never tried it myself. I doubt I'll have to use that one as I never get severe ones anymore.

Any nut/seed causes them, but especially chocolate. Even a bite of it causes one a few hours later. It's such a relief for them to be gone.
