Better than a zombie, but it's slow going. I first went to a natureopath, Dr. Lo in Encinitas, CA. She helped with getting some huge issues ID'd through labs and then liver detox, support, adrenal support, parasite, virus's, etc. I had been Paleo (vlc for 2 years). Part of my problem was I was pushing my body too hard through physical and chronic plus emotional stressors (working out an hour+ 6 days+ a week, divorce, death, full time single mom, AND VLC PALEO). The VLC downregulated my thyroid most likely along with all the other demands.

Best thing I have ever found, and it was recent - FUNCTIONAL DIAGNOSTIC NUTRITION

Depending on type and variety oysters provide 1-8mg of copper per 100g serving, accounting for 37%-500% of the DV. The oyster highest in copper is the steamed wild eastern oyster which provides 0.5mg(27% DV) per oyster. In general, wild caught oysters provide more copper than farm raised.

I can control the sugar by letting it ferment until very sour. Yay!

Doctors were no help. My problems were worsening on a zero carb diet. As I added in some carbs, along with some natural remedies, I got rid of it.

http://paleohacks.com/questions/113680/paleo-athletes-operators-what-do-you-eat/113696#113696Comment by EhmackinEhmackin2012-04-21T14:44:35Z2012-04-21T14:44:35ZDefinitely agree with Corbab here. Even as a 5'2" female at 120 lbs, I find that I can't push myself in a metabolic conditioning workout more than a couple times a week if I'm not hitting my "sweet spot" with carbs. However, the carbs and the fat and the protein can't all go up at once as I've found that leads to gaining fat for me immediately. Staying lean for me requires less metabolically demanding workouts, more easy lifting and lots of ambling around. I have trained ketogenically also.
