You could injure your body or have (over)absorption problems. Also keep in mind, suppositories go in your rectum, which comes after your colon, which might cause logistics problems if you're trying to get it all the way to your colon like you indicated.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/149222/brain-fog-worse-beore-it-gets-better-on-paleo-diet/149250#149250 Answer by Sblueyez for brain fog: worse beore it gets better on paleo diet? Then he upped my ERFA and mine is less than one now. If it isn't bothering you then it seems like you could do without it. I had to nap, was too tired during the day, dry skin and couldn't lose any weight. For the first time in years I'm losing weight. Remember if you are taking levo etc the common thought is that you can't stop it because your thyroid won't start up again. If I were you and not having symptoms and able to lose weight I wouldn't do it but it is up to you. Ask your doctor what happens biologically if you don't take it. Maybe there are more benefits than just the few I mentioned. Also, have your t3 and t4 checked. Although lately, my face and hair are super oily! I haven't changed my skin/hair regimen since I started paleo and maybe I need to, or maybe my skin is just adjusting. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I shower and shampoo every other day, which will change to once a day as it gets hotter here (Arizona). I wash with facial wash every other day and moisturizer after that because my face gets tight from it. On the days where I don't wash my face with soap I use a cloth with water. This has generally worked but lately my face has become and oil slick, but aside from that looks really good! My hair has been an embarrassment. Oily hair shows up really really easily with my blond hair. I used to be able to shower and go all the way through the next day with my hair remaining clean. Lately, I can only go one day. I don't think it's heat because this is the first year it has happened and I remain indoors on most days. Any ideas? My ANA w/ Titer came out to be 1:1280, and normal is less than 1:40. So, I was very inflamed!! Any way, I went paleo the day I found out and have been very strict ever since, as that seems to be the protocol for inflammatory paleo diets. I do not eat grains, dairy, processed foods, legumes, sugar.

After 2 days of paleo I dropped more than 5 lbs. I assume this is water weight due to eating SAD so I do not count it. After that I was losing 2 lbs a week. My weight has plateaued and I'm wondering why. I count calories via MyFitnessPal, because it keeps me on track and lets me see how many sugars (from fruits) I am eating. I was having multiple servings of fruit a day, about 3 times. I cut down to once a day right around when I stopped losing.

I'm 24yrs old, female, 5'4", endomorph, 172 lbs, so I have plenty to lose. One thing I'm wondering is if I'm not eating enough and my body is getting greedy.

Here is what a typical day is for me: Brekky: 2 eggs Snack: Pear Lunch: Chicken breast with romaine and cherry tomatoes. EVO Oil and a tiny bit of balsamic Snack: Almond butter, raw crunchy unsalted Dinner: More Chicken or pork tenderloin (grilled) w/cabbage or asparagus (grilled with olive oil)

It is new for me not to be hungry all day, not feel faint if I don't eat every few hours, not crave carbs uncontrollably. Because I don't feel hungry I'm only eating about 1000 calories a day. Sometimes a little less. Once a week I eat around 1500, just due to feeling hungry.

Around the same time I stopped losing I got pretty constipated(TMI!). For a few days I assumed the not losing was due to this. I am having normal movements again but the weight has not budged.

I read Loren Cordain's "The Paleo Diet" and it says that if a person has weight to lose, they can eat this way and weight will eventually normalize. I'm concerned because I'm seeing NO losses for 2 weeks. I have started walking mod pace 30mins/day and doing resistance bands.

Sorry for the book, I'm just starting to get frustrated. Where can I improve?

**I'd just like to say that I've upped my calories since this post to 1500 and finally started losing again. Thanks so much!! Sblueyez 2012-04-24T19:34:55Z 2012-04-24T19:34:55Z
So after reading Cordaine's "The Paleo Diet" I understand it like this... We need fat and if we were hunter gatherers we would get that fat from nuts and from animals. Since we raise our meat, we have altered the type of fat the animals put on, by feeding them grains etc. Since that fat is not in the right form, the goal now is to buy the leanest meat you can, and add oil to your diet, since you have more control over the type of fat in your diet that way.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/113378/am-i-not-doing-something-right-help/113392#113392 Answer by Sblueyez for Am I not doing something right???? Help!!!!! Sblueyez 2012-04-20T03:31:03Z 2012-04-20T03:31:03Z
I lost like 7 lbs 3 days after starting. I don't count that because I chalk it up to be water weight from eating grains. I am pretty strict paleo so I only eat lean meats, veggies, fruits and nuts. If I have to add oil for cooking, it's olive oil. That's all. No grains of any kind, no dairy -not creamer, not yogurt, not whole cream etc. I have been losing 2 lbs a week since starting.

Depending on how close you are to goal, you may actually have some good numbers there. It also depends how strict you're being with paleo. Paleo can reduce inflammation but if you're eating inflammatory foods you may have trouble dropping the weight due to that.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/112522/question-for-the-females-about-breasts/112529#112529 Answer by Sblueyez for Question for the females ( About breasts) Sblueyez 2012-04-17T06:28:26Z 2012-04-17T06:28:26Z
Well I kind of have a roundabout explanation. I was put on paleo by my doctor due to inflammation likened to Lupus and metabolic syndrome. The way I understand it is, the foods you eat when you're not on paleo are so genetically modified, messed with and in general not healthy for your body, that they can mess with your hormones. Either by way of there being funky stuff in the food, or by the response your body has to a food that you should be avoiding (grains like wheat). I'm not surprised at all if you have noticed a difference in your breasts. Paleo can change your whole body and mind, why should your boobs be excluded?
http://paleohacks.com/questions/111866/looking-for-primal-people/111927#111927 Answer by Sblueyez for Looking for Primal people! It's a little on the painful side, gets worse when I sneeze. If I were you I would just call the doctors office and ask for a pelvic ultrasound. They should have no problem referring you. The truth is it happens due to hormones and most likely is benign. It could be something like PMS or even mittleshmertz.

Interesting that they should say intestinal because they found mine because my doctor thought my symptoms were likened to appendicitis so they sent me for an MRI, and that's what they found. They are apparently quite common but it is best to have them checked via ultrasound and then checked routinely.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/142495/low-fat-cuts-of-meat/142502#142502 Comment by Sblueyez Sblueyez 2012-08-13T20:54:56Z 2012-08-13T20:54:56Z This is my understanding. Avoid fatty meats because the quality of it and what is stored in it is no bueno for the body. We don't feed our cows grass, we feed them grain, and what follows is a cow made up of a bad fat content and contaminants. If you had grass fed meat it would be different.
