Matthew M 2012-04-24T17:29:48Z 2012-04-24T18:42:35Z
I recently started doing 40 hour fasts from Sunday night to Tuesday evening. I have been having a really hard time getting to sleep on Monday nights. I do not feel super hungry I just have a ton of energy and feel very awake. I am pretty active, CrossFit 5x per week and Ultimate Frisbee 3x per week + I walk everywhere. Tried melatonin and had zero change in my sleepiness.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/114412/fasting-and-trouble-sleeping/114426#114426 Comment by Matthew M Matthew M 2012-04-24T18:44:44Z 2012-04-24T18:44:44Z Wouldn't I feel crappy then? http://paleohacks.com/questions/114412/fasting-and-trouble-sleeping Comment by Matthew M Matthew M 2012-04-24T17:47:07Z 2012-04-24T17:47:07Z My coffee consumption was the same, I generally have a large cup before the gym at 6:30 AM and then another cup when I get to work and then no coffee from then on. I did have two cups of green tea in the early afternoon. http://paleohacks.com/questions/114412/fasting-and-trouble-sleeping/114413#114413 Comment by Matthew M Matthew M 2012-04-24T17:45:40Z 2012-04-24T17:45:40Z My diet has been pretty solid. A few cheats but the last three months I have been strictly Paleo. I am 6'3'' and 215 at approx. 18% bodyfat. My stress and sleep have been good. I actually feel great it was just strange for me to not feel sleepy, I got up this morning and did a set of max deadlifts at my CrossFit gym and matched my previous PR of 500lbs.
