REKER 2012-06-19T15:47:13Z 2012-06-19T16:17:22Z
Im 30 years old and have eaten a paleo/keto diet for almost 2 years. For the first 28 or so years, my diet was the typical "modern" diet with dairy, legumes and all sorts of grains. In the past i've never had any noticeable reactions to dairy, legumes or grains, so i'll some times have them on rare occasions. I've also never had any allergy problems with the exception for poison ivy. 3 weeks ago I noticed a small dime-sized rash on my left elbow and I didnt think anything of it. A few days later and it itched like crazy, got inflammed and the size grew larger and spread on to my other forearm and on to a circular area on my thigh about the size of a small pancake. I also had a few sporadic itchy bumps on my back and belt line. I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with "contact dermatitis" which is pretty much just a generic term and was prescribed steroids. A week went by and the dermatitis went away and the day after I finished the round of steroids, the dermatits came back but only on my forearms. Im now on my second round of steroids which im also using benedryl and was told that if it doesnt go away in 3-4 days that I should contact a dermatologist (which will be in a couple days).

My question is, have any of you encountered something similar to this? I realize that as we grow older that certain allergies can form but it still seems a little strange to me.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/121943/hack-my-dog-food/121991#121991 Answer by REKER for Hack my dog food. Then I supplement with a capsule of Omega-3's once a day. Almost a year since I started and he's doing great!
http://paleohacks.com/questions/128964/some-type-of-allergy/128973#128973 Comment by REKER REKER 2012-06-20T12:00:17Z 2012-06-20T12:00:17Z I did change to a new soap (glycerin based) a day or so before I noticed the bumps. Im now two days off using that soap and back to using Dr. Bronners and cold showers. I also think it could be a developing grass allergy as I also noticed an itchy bump on my elbow after I dove for a ball in baseball a couple weeks ago. Thanks for your insights!
