<p>Hey weird thing I noticed and was wondering if anyone else saw the same thing? I suffer from anxiety, nothing too bad but mainly pertaining to driving in high places ie down the sides of mountains. Sucks cause I like to hike and live in Seattle. The other day I was driving somewhere unkown and ended up driving down the side of a nice steep baby mountain. I did not experience my normal fear, panick feeling that usually has me trying to find the nearest place to pullover. Only change I've made recently is Paleo and I am wondering if anyone else who suffers from anxiety has seen it improve/go away? </p>

<p>Has anyone read that the FDA has approved the first GMO animal? They have okay a GMO super salmon to be farmed. I work in the fish oil industry (wild) and this is scary to me beyond the implications on diet it's a slippery slope in the GMO world and now meats are in play. Thoughts?</p>

So far down 15lbs in about 3 weeks. I highly recommend super 8 I downloaded an interval app called seconds pro that lets me create the intervals as timers and then I use that each cardio workout. It's amazing!! </p>

I love coffee and I usually "prepalo" drank it full of sugar and cream...its the only way I like it. Needless to say I was bummed when I went paleo because no more starbucks haha best thing I ever did. I have found 3tbs of grassfed butter in my coffee blended makes it creamy and slightly sweet. It is addictive try it yes I know it sounds gross. Those who don't drink coffee do this with tea. </p>

<p>Last night I didn't make it home and I had to leave from where I was at and go straight to work. Since starting Paleo a few weeks ago I have cooked meals at home but I was in a bind this morning. I need breakfast and lunch help! I was able to stop at the store and bought some nitrate free chicken sausages and hard boiled eggs for breakfast. Luckily there is a good salad bar near by for lunch but it made me think what do you use as those omg I need a meal quick fixes when you don't have food with you? </p>

I am now a fews weeks into being Paleo and workout 5-6x week, 2-3x strength with alternating cardio. I am currently doing the bodypump classes at my gym. I enjoy these but I know in about a month I will want to restart crossfit. I am waiting not because of my weight but because I want to be consistently working out before starting back. </p>
<p>My suggestion from another bigger person and not an athlete:</p>
<ol>
<li><p>Visit a few crossfit gyms. There were two in my area I emailed both with my questions, lots of questions. I was worried about being the "fat" person there. After asking questions I set up in person meets with both places. One was nice but it was very much like a nightmare in that they didn't get many real people in just people already very fit. The other was great the owners mom was there getting her workout in. I will tell you at first I was so slow but everyone encouraged me (the athletes, the moms, the 15 year old kids). </p></li>
<li><p>Do an onramp or essentials class. I believe most crossfit gyms require this. </p></li>
<li><p>Don't fool yourself into thinking you can't do it. Take some time before/after each workout to ask questions if you have them. I would lookup things like thrusters online so I could watch videos. Even with the class it takes time to learn proper form so ask a lot of questions. </p></li>
<li><p>Listen to your body. Push yourself but don't pass out doing it. I am horrible at cardio so the runs for me were slow slow slow jogs to start. </p></li>

<p>If I eat fruits or nuts I limit it to one serving a day and preferably melons/berries. </p>
<p>I measure out my nuts to make sure I am not eating too many. </p>
<p>If I decrease my normal workout for any reason I cut the above and just stick to protein/carb/fat based meals. </p>
<p>So far 10lbs down in a couple weeks. Experiment a little and see what works for you. </p>

<p>My question is I am going overseas to South Africa for six months next year to volunteer. Has anyone experienced spending a long amount of time in another country and if so how did you deal with eating Paleo there? I will have my own place and car so can shop for myself. I don't think finding locally sourced veggies will be an issue but I wonder about grass feed beef vs corn feed. I guess I need to do a little internet research but I thought I would start here. </p>

<p>I haven't gone out shopping yet so I will not get fruits and try for at least a couple weeks without them once I finish the two small melons I have at home. I don't really have a sweet tooth I have a carb tooth so it's the bread and pasta that are the big issue but totally doable. That said sometimes my body just really wants fruit I don't know why but I will go through a kick and it would be nice to indulge. That said I am fine with limiting myself for awhile if that's the way to get the best results. </p>
