They are designed to be flexible, have thin soles and as far as I am concerned are extremely elegant... and can be found for not very much money! http://www.payless.com/store/product/detail.jsp?skuId=065558070&productId=64037&subCatId=&catId=&lotId=065558&category=&catdisplayName=Womens+

http://paleohacks.com/questions/4417/question-for-non-poo-ers/4635#4635Answer by Jess for Question for non 'poo-ers?Jess2010-05-12T05:31:41Z2010-05-12T05:31:41Z
White vinegar works just as well as ACV and is not quite so strongly scented, and it's scent wears off much faster than ACV. Here is a pretty good tute for going no 'poo http://babyslime.livejournal.com/174054.html and a great article for water only types http://thephoenix.com/Boston/Life/40141-No-Poo-Do/. In short the baking soda and water is meant to loosen dirt and debris and emulsify head oils so that they are more easily rinsed out and the vinegar rinse is to close and smooth the hair shaft and to carry residual oils down the hair shaft to moisturize and protect longer hair. Going no' poo isn't really a paleo thing as much as it is about avoiding extra chemicals and promoting a cycle that isn't good or even useful to the health of the hair. How you clean yourself shouldn't be based on what paleo man could or could not get his grubby little hands on, it should be determined by what works for your body and it's individual chemistry.

http://paleohacks.com/questions/3397/keratosis-pilaris/3690#3690Answer by Jess for Keratosis PilarisJess2010-04-22T18:19:31Z2010-04-22T18:19:31Z
This is what worked for me:
1. Don't use soap, it's not needed is dries out your skin and makes me itchy
2. Take a long enough bath or shower that the keratin softens a bit
3. SCRUB! exfoliate with a bath mitt, salt whatever or once you get out use a dry towel scrub off loose skin
4. Next is chemical exfoliation, I use apple cider vinegar on a cotton ball and apply it to my arms
5. then coconut oil for moisture

Do this at night or at least a few hours before you go anywhere and the vinegar smell will dissapate. Try it several times and see how it affects your KP

http://paleohacks.com/questions/1667/what-is-a-paleo-anti-inflammatory-for-acute-inflammation/1735#1735Answer by Jess for What is a paleo anti-inflammatory for acute inflammation?Jess2010-03-09T20:02:07Z2010-03-09T20:02:07Z
I second the ginger and the tumeric, also spices that contain capsaicin are supposed to relieve pain http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capsaicin (I believe when topically applied, I don't know about internally) and also willow bark tea functions as very weak asprin. I don't know if it is the right thing to do but if you are in pain it is difficult to think about anything other than making the pain stop.

I think the concrete/asphalt might be too hard on the leather anyway... maybe they are the kind of shoe you put on when you get to work.
