breakfast: 2 pcs gluten free toast with 2 eggs over easy (cooked in butter) with two additional egg yolks. A few berries.
lunch: small amount of mac nuts and 90% dark chocolate. Some asparagus and jicama.
snack: small amount of mac nuts and 90% dark choc. another piece of GF bread with almond butter. (I know, I know, but the GF bread is an occasional treat and I don't buy it often).
dinner: salmon cake with sauteed swiss chard and avocado.</p>
<p>symptoms: since about 3 pm I can't stop burping up these disgusting sulfurous burps!! also, stomach gurgling and a little gas. I'm thinking it was from the eggs, but what do you guys think? </p>

I've also struggled with acne for a few years (although it has gotten better recently, I think because I'm not using anything on my face and not stressing about it nearly as much) and in the past year or two I have gained some weight (still skinny, but not as thin as I used to be). I just got a blood test done and here are the results:</p>

<p>In middle school and the first few years of high school I was very skinny naturally but my weight has crept up a bit the past year and a half or 2 years. yes, I've grown so naturally I've gained weight that way, but my BMI/body composition has increased as well. I have tried paleo in the past with no change in weight. Because it's summer I'm really getting my butt into gear and for the past two weeks I've been using the myfitnesspal app to track my food intake and it usually comes out into even thirds of fat, carbs, protein and my weekly average for calories per day is 1250. My workouts have been patchy, haha. I know I won't see abs until I lose some weight so that's what I'm focusing on right now. I'm dying to wear high waisted shorts and crop tops with confidence!!

I find paleo/the diet I described above clears my forehead, hairline, temples, and chin of all but a little comedonal acne. Unfortunately, I still break out on the lower part of my cheeks no matter how good or bad my diet is. This, for me, is just SO frustrating. Especially because I get hardcore red marks (even if I don't pick/pop) that take MONTHS AND MONTHS to fade away. So my skin looks bad even if I am not breaking out >:( </p>

<p>Since starting pretty strict paleo a few weeks ago my forehead acne has almost completely cleared up but paleo seems to have no effect on blemishes around my mouth and between chin and cheek. I saw today on Paleo Pepper she had acne in a parentheses shape around her mouth and I get it there too and she suspected it was because of high testosterone.
Background: I'm 17, female, approx 5'6", 122 lbs with an empty stomach/bladder/gut (BMI of 20). I have always been a late bloomer and got my first period in January. I'm still waiting for my second one haha. I'm an A cup with pretty much no hips. So obviously not estrogen dominant.
Perhaps a year ago I had multiple cups of spearmint/peppermint tea a day as an experiment and while it did make me noticeably less oily I don't remember it having any effect on my acne.
My acne used to be almost entirely on my forehead but has slowly shifted to where it's mostly on my lower face and my forehead is much better than it used to be even on SAD (ie I used to break out on my temples allll the time, now they are always clear). I have no explanation for this.
So...any thoughts? Should I actively try to lower testosterone/increase estrogen?
Also, I have never taken any birth control pills or anything to screw up my hormones more than they would otherwise.

<p>Ok...so I've started the paleo WOE to get rid of my acne. In the past 3 or 4 weeks I have had no cheats except when I ate a bunch of peas at a restaurant (and broke out with several new pimples the next couple days). Everything was rainbows and unicorns because I was getting no new pimples and I thought, great, all I have to do is wait until the old ones heal then I'm clear! Not the case. The past 3 days or so I have gotten several new pimples, but I don't know where they are coming from! Just today I got a new pimple on my cheekbone, which is a weird place for me (I get most of my acne on forhead and around mouth/chin). Possible sources:</p>
<ol>
<li>too much sugar from fruit? Strawberries are in season and I was eating a lot of fruit last week. I thought this was the cause initally and have cut way down on fruit but obviously still breaking out.</li>
<li>Cashews? This nut is like crack for me. I eat wayy too many. No 1/4 cup serving size for me.</li>
<li>Trace amounts of added sugar, maltodextrin (the corn stuff, right?), and corn starch from the pre cooked TJ's chicken I have bought many times the past week for quick lunch salads. Damn the fine print!</li>
<li>Traces of corn/wheat/gluten from the flaxseed oil pills I recently started taking. These have helped in the past so I figured why not. I only took them for 3 or 4 days I think which coincides with my breakouts, but again they have really helped in the past. I have stopped them anyways.</li>
<li>Small amount of rice vinegar I had in a cucumber salad a few days ago.</li>
</ol>
<p>The only dairy I eat is butter (goat or pastured/grassfed cow).
ok I sound completely anal/orthorexic but I just want to get rid of my damn acne! I was SO confident the paleo diet would clear me up for good.</p>

I used to take fish oil too but I don't think that had any effect. My favorite way right now is getting into position and grabbing/pulling with my arms onto the coffee table (the author of the article recommends something similar, I think).
