Hey thanks so much for your response! Calorie wise they recommend 1500ish so I could cut back a little there. My BMI is just in the healthy range (so surely weight to lose)? Waist to height ratio of 44.1 so not amazing but healthy. (more)

I've been very semi-paleo (okay, not really at all) for a while. I am gluten intolerant so I don't eat it, and I mostly eat natural foods but I have a tendency to dip into the candy/potato chip cabinets at work (bad me!) Anyway, I noticed an... (more)

I don't think it really has an impact. I have always had that 10 inch difference between breasts (quite large and the larger the fatter I get), waist and hips which is just luck or breeding. For me it all looks a lot better then I'm nearer 126... (more)

I am a 22 year old female who trains 5-6 days a week with running (cf endurance), crossfit, and yoga. I'd say I train about 6-8 hours a week. I have been paleo for a few years now but have recently become even more strict (less cheat meals) and... (more)

Seems like you're working out a lot, but you mention you have "an extra layer of fat" on your midsection. Sounds like you may be overtraining/underfeeding yourself. When you continually eat fewer calories than your body requires, you are doing... (more)

You can achieve a lot of fat loss on a high fat diet. I lost 40 pounds on a very low carb paleo diet. I didn't try to make it low carb, but it just kind of worked out that way. If you're talking about getting to extremely low body fat percentage,... (more)

As soon as you mentioned baked goods, I thought, "Nut meal!" Even if you don't use sweeteners of any kind, you're getting a full serving of nuts in every portion. Now, I don't claim that's the problem but it could be. Anytime someone complains of... (more)

mY 10 cents: cut the cardio down a bit. You didn't say what kind of cardio you are doing, but 40 minutes seems long for a straight cardio session. If you do need the cardio, maybe make it more intense? drop you last meal. I'm guessing that if... (more)

How does a high fat, high protein, and/or low carb diet affect these hormones? How does Paleo increase testosterone for men but not women (or does it)? Why is Paleo a good diet for women? To be frank, the question is a bit muddled in my head but... (more)

it depends upon what paleo is to you, what your current gut bio-films are adapted too ......and most importantly what is your current hormone backround. Then you can discuss it from there. That is the context one needs when they explore this. ... (more)

Okay, we're talking 60 lbs in 5 months--averaging 3 lbs per week? To be followed by high stress and activity, with you-eat-what-we-serve food options in a military environment while the weight loss must be maintained or increased? I found in Army... (more)
