Fish Oil Questions
For years I had a peculiar reaction to salmon: I threw up the oil. Just the oil. Every time. In the past several years, I have been able to greatly reduce this by only eating wild salmon, which makes me think that it was the oil in the farmed... (more)
Olive oil has some PUFAS, which degrade rather quickly. Most people don't seem to know this and they buy olive oil in clear containers and don't bother shielding it from the light. A properly stored cold pressed olive oil is a world away from the... (more)
I started supplementing with Wild Pacific Salmon Oil a few days ago (1,300mg x4/day) and I have noticed that it gives me an upset stomach. My experience has been loud gurgling and discomfort, light, heartburn-type stabbing pains throughout my... (more)
I've been taking fish oil for years now. First it was a failed attempt at reducing triglycerides (before I knew about Paleo or high fat or any of that good jazz so I was still eating lots of carbs), then I took small amounts of the flavored... (more)
I am looking for a site that sells really good antarctic krill oil particularly in bulk so I can get the lowest price, any suggestions?
I've read a lot about the benefits, and I'm wondering about your opinions on them. If you have any knowledge to share about these three oils, that would be wonderful, especially if you've tried any or all at some point, too. Anyway, extra... (more)
------ Question: Looking for an affordable fish oil to take. Quite confused...hoping someone knows a lot more than me on the topic. ------ Thoughts: I've seen quite a bit about fish oil being good...and bad...or... (more)
Fish oil isn't even as good as dripped oil of fish and fish has much more healthy components in it. My suggestion is to choose healthier seafood alternatives available to you and to stick with them.
What is the best fish oil out there? Is it the one the Weston Price foundation recommends? I am afraid I can't deal with fermented foods at the moment. If you found one particular brand superior to others, please recommend. Also, if there is... (more)
I'm pretty sure there are a few threads here asking almost the exact same question... I do not worry too much about brands, but recommend krill oil with astaxanthin and phosolipids.
While I'm not too worried about my diet / supplements, I am wondering if I can better optimize it. Right now, I supplement with Nutrasea 500mg EPA / 1,000mg DHA. In these studies, it seems that DHA might have a greater link than... (more)
This has been all over the U.K news today, i don't take the stuff myself but i'm sure a lot of people do, i'm wondering is it down to the quality of the oils? i.e fermented or not. ... (more)

I've been reading about concerns regarding the ratio of vitamin A to vitamin D (particularly in the context of cod liver oil, but more generally as well -- it might explain the inconsistent findings about vitamin A and harm to health). To my... (more)
I find that every-time I take fish oil I get weird spots that I don't usually get. I mean, I usually use a cheap Walmart brand and overdose on Omega 3 cause I thought it was so good for me when I take it. But read online and some people breakout... (more)
So, yesterday I was at the market and I passed this stall that was selling monkfish livers. I'd never heard of anyone eating monkfish liver before but I thought it sounded interesting, so I bought one. I brought it home and fried it (in... (more)
So, I've realized that fasting isn't that hard on Paleo. Despite being at work (eating breakfast is not only to eat, but to take a break from working as well) I really don't get as hungry as I used to in the mornings. So, with that being said, I'm... (more)
Potentially dumb question: I just got my fermented CLO/Butter oil from Green Pastures. I assumed that the FCLO/BO takes the place of the regular fish oil capsules that I had been taking... or am I wrong? Do I need to continue taking regular fish... (more)
I've started throwing up whenever I take fish oil supplements and it doesn't matter what form it's in (liquid vs. capsule.) I've been trying with as low as 1 g. Also, the brand and type don't seem to make a difference. I've been trying to take it... (more)

I've seen folks comment about how fish oil caused acne, and I realize cod liver oil isn't lauded by everyone as a good supplement. So you know, pre-empting all that. But stay with me here. I've had horrible acne most of my life, since the age... (more)

First off, 7g of fish oil is not much at all. I am guessing that deep down the fish oil and your symptoms are unrelated, unless you had oil that had gotten rancid, which is easy to happen to any pufa given their chemical structure. If the oil is... (more)
