Does anyone in Austin know of any places in town that fry their French fries in beef tallow (or a similarly paleo oil)?

How do the French/italian/japanese stay so slim eating loads of carbs? I keep watching all these Italian cooking shows and had me thinking.

Taste should rule within bounds of course. For me it is vacuum first then French press and chemex drip depending on the time and situation. Early am Fr P. but later drip but after full dinner back to vacuum. Da Jim

I put up a post several days ago asking for thoughts on my (maybe) high cholesterol. I've since seen chatter regarding raised elevations of cholesterol in people using a French press to make their coffee which is a device I've used everyday for a... (more)

And I feel AWFUL. My self esteem has gone way done. I feel ugly and bloated. I want to be "cleansed" (the feeling I get after my first week of paleo) but for some reason I have a really difficult time during the school year. I come home from... (more)

So you're still growing and in a calorie deficit daily already--plus you're active. I think it's great you are tackling paleo so well at your age. I would just be careful not to bother with fasting yet. Do that later when you are older. Right... (more)

I have news for you--we're the LAST ones to go Paleo if you're speaking of eating a diet native to the area. Third World countries have been eating this way forever, and then we had to go mess it up with the introduction of fast food outlets, UN... (more)

Be careful with snails. They come with toxins from their intestines and meningitis-causing parasites. You need to properly starve and repeatedly wash them for a week, and then thoroughly cook them and get rid of the intestines (you only eat the... (more)

The Mediterranean and French lifestyles are somewhere in between the Standard American Diet (SAD) and many Paleo diets. They eat fewer processed foods. But, cornetti/croissants and gelato aren't paleo. Because as the SAD invades those countries,... (more)
