I'm trying to embrace this lifestyle due the slew of physiological benefits I believe it can provide. I really do feel so much healthier since I've gone strict paleo. I gave been loading up on fatty meats and veggies. I recently cut out nuts and... (more)

Gaining weight is a function of energy balance (calories consumed over caloires expended), not which particular diet you follow (atkins, paleo, south beach, grapefruit, cabbage soup, whatever).

I started Crossfitting back in October. I try to go 3-4x a week. But I work nights so some times it's hard to fit it in my day when I'm normally sleeping. I eat healthy. Not a big carb person naturally but I don't restrict myself either. If I... (more)

I don't really agree with the people above who say it's because you sleep during the day. I work nights. If your sleep is inconsistent, whether during the day or night, then maybe. But I would guess it's because you may not have a handle on how... (more)

Tomorrow will be my 30th day on paleo and about 4-5 days ago I started gaining weight and becoming bloated like crazy. I don't eat ANY dairy, legumes or grains, no sugar (except from the occasional piece of fruit and I really mean... (more)

Surely it's just PMS if you're female and can be ignored and will pass. Also you might just be going to catch a germ, a cold or sore throat so just get to bed very early each night, have naps, drink plenty of water and it may pass. (more)

I started following paleo about 9 months ago and lost 10 lbs and 2 inches. I cut back on my cardio and started lifting heavy. Everything was wonderful. I felt great and was happy except I was a smoker for 15 years, a pack a day. So...I finally... (more)

15 years of inflicted smoking damage to your body isn't cured in 5 months. As mentioned your gut flora is probably way off normal. Eat more good fats. Relax and give it time.

Ok, so I just started the Paleo eating style and I have had no negative results so far. I feel great and I have a lot of energy...however I've been stuck at around 91 lbs, which for my height (5' 3'') is underweight. Also, phisically I'm... (more)

Ripped and Insanity are the wrong type of workouts for you. Little to no cardio and weight training is what you should be doing. Lift heavy.

I'm going paleo for health reasons. My problem is I'm losing weight and I only weigh 110! I don't need to lose weight! I've read that white rice can be accepable (depending on who is talking) and I'm thinking maybe I need those carbs? I eat... (more)

I think there are other ways to boost calorie intake big time without going for grains. Nuts are an excellent high fat, high calorie option that aren't super filling (as opposed to, say, meat). Eat a spoonful of almond butter or coconut oil... (more)

i am fairly certain that feeding bacon and fatty steaks to a diabetic who has recently suffered a stroke and has high cholesterol is NOT a good idea. the Paleo doctrine does NOT apply universally. In this case going with clean proteins, fresh... (more)

My almost 5 year old is very, very skinny. Last I checked she was only 32lbs. She was in the 50th percentile until about 6 months old, then continued to drop. At one point the ped suggested supplementing with formula, adding lots of fattening... (more)
