IIRC most Horizon products are pasteurized using HTST which you may find some some difficulties culturing. Here's something I found with a quick google search. (more)

I am just skeptical of the "grass fed" label at any large store, just like "organic". It is not precisely defined or regulated, and the stores know that it is good for marketing, so they tend to blur and corrupt the meaning of it so that they can... (more)

You do realize that if the cows are pastured and free range, there is a 100% chance that they are eating wheat and other grains/seeds of grasses when in season, right? Advice: stop worrying about this so much.

I went grocery shopping at whole foods today for grass fed and finished beef. I couldn't find anything that said specifically "grass-fed" in the meat section. All I found was vegatarian diet. Is this the same?

If I can't afford to buy grass fed beef, I don't buy beef...I've done way too much research on feedlot cattle to compromise, more than just occasionally...If I was at someone's house for dinner I would eat it and keep my mouth shut.

I dont have any preferences when it comes to brands, because I think in Norway the cows are raised in pretty much the same way all over. Ecological brands may be better though. Im not sure how much the cows are fed grain in Norway in winter time.... (more)

Since federal law in the US requires cows to be grass fed (pastured) at least 4 months out of the year, a company can be slick with their labeling and say "grass fed". Maybe as a community we can all start advocating for % of grass fed to be labeled. (more)

I believe the organ meat from grain-fed animals is still very good for you, though grass-fed is better. There are lots of nutrients that are hard to get anywhere else in the same concentration besides organ meats. I would be more worried about... (more)
