Please review CDone 's comments, harassment

Can someone please review CDone's comments to me especially here:

http://paleohacks.com/questions/528211/beyond-the-paleo-principles-how-long-does-it-take.html#comment-528298

his comments in reply to my answer I believe constitute harassment, especially since they come in the middle of an all day campaign of badgering me with the statement "this diet is not a reenactment"

I've said many times that I disagree with that statement, but that's not enough for him, he seems to want to convince me of the rightness of his point of view, and he will not let it go.

My point of vie is that my opinion is also on the range of Paleo options and this is a forum, not a brainwashing scheme. We don't all need to mouth the same phrases. If that were true, we would only need one answer to each question.

He's personally attacking me and now he is also giving out personal information about me such as that my email is not "validated." Who cares, really? It's just an excuse for crummy behavior.

CDone, to YOU your comments were never rude or derogatory. To me (and to that girl as she clearly stated) they were. You "provided support for your position" by belittling her. Different people see things differently. I am sorry that I have disappointed you with my disrespectful comments, but that's how I chose to respond. You are right, there is no point in further discussion since we disagree on the issue. For example, you labeled another user's words as "retorts" whether you refer to your own statements as "comments". At least I admit my posts were inappropriate (and intentionally so).

My point is: IF YOU WANT TO CORRECT A PERSON OR SHARE YOUR POINT OF VIEW, do it gently. The sensitivity level is different for each person. See, as soon as I wrote something about you (and it was not the right thing to do, I admit) you became sensitive. So shouldn't we be more polite and understanding towards each other here on Paleohacks? There are different ways of arguing and "challenging ideas". You are doing it from a male's prospective (I assume this, maybe this is just how I view it), but I can see how she could be hurt by what you wrote.

I am not discussing this further. But I will state 100% that my comments were never rude or derogatory or out of line for a civil discussion. Providing support for my position is not disrespectful. Her retorts and (to my surprise because I had a lot of respect for you and your battle) yours were. Ultimately, David, who has final say, has ended this discussion.

You did apologize, that is true. The point is - even if the person states that Paleo is a reenactment, maybe she means something else and by picking on her words and belittling her ideas you are just invalidating everything she has to say?

3. She was not attacking you, she was defending her beliefs. I am not going to challenge your ideas because they are yours and you can believe whatever you want to believe. However, since you are the moderator, don't you think you have a responsibility to be impartial and edit your writing so it does not look so aggressive?

2. I admit, my answer was out of line as well. I had no right to "guess" the reasons for your comments. To me it looked like you were picking on her, but again, my remarks are inappropriate.

CDone,

1. "So GirlGenius (who btw has yet to validate her email address) knows more than; Harris, Sisson, Taubes, Wolf, Jaminet, Guyenet, Eades, MasterJohns, Minger, and Kresser --" - that's not bullying, but this is a disrespectful comment that is (correct me if I am wrong here) designed to show her that her opinion is not valued compared to some other "gurus". Well, gurus make mistakes too. I cannot go back and forward from one answer to another, but you have also made other comments that were... unnecessary.

Please, and I am serious about this, show me where is said anything that was bulling. She attacked me. I even apologized while she was continuing to fire personal attacks at me.

And again, the personal attacks are out if line. Please challenge my ideas, but calling me a bully, saying I have self-esteem issues, those contentions have no merit and are inappropriate.

Also, for the record. I only delete spam. I have only once deleted a users post, and that was when someone suggested that a 15 year old girl with an eating disorder got on a ketogenic diet.

BTW, sorry if you feel that I was harassing you -- but me and my possee are the only active moderators, so I am not sure where to go with this. Contact @DavidSinick if you'd like to get me suspended.

I think CDone definitely stepped out of line and made some rude comments and snide remarks, but I don't think this is harassment.

So you have three choices: choice 1 - write something mean and nasty back (yes, it is not a great option but it is a lot of fun and your post would be deleted afterwards); choice 2 - ignore him because he acts as a bully; choice 3 - write a nice and reasonable response, pointing out that you think his tone is inappropriate.

Hi @Girlgenius and @CDone - All I saw in the previous thread was Cdone challenging your opinions. I'm not really sure what you are up in arms about but I am inclined to be on his side in the fact that you seem to think your opinion about Paleo is THE opinion about Paleo.

Anyway, if you do not want to participate in the forum, that is fine. I would prefer to keep drama to a minimum.

OK fellas, enough's enough. I will simply stop participating. This kind of thing is optional and for fun and if it's not fun, why do it. I added an explanation to my profile and you guys have fun running the forum from now on.

------------------

After complaining of harassment by CDone primarily, but also a posse including wtfgod and Matt11 at various times especially on 6/16/2014, I decided not to participate in the forum any longer. There doesn't seem to be any further need of my opinions here. I was a proponent of hunting and fishing for your food at least some of the time and making your diet a re-enactment if you could find a group of people that you respected and whose diet worked for you.

For example, I appreciate the Eskimos very much and I try to follow a basically ketogenic diet that is also Paleo. I've found some modern analogs to some of the less convertible aspects of their diet such as electrolytes and broth instead of blood stew. Apparently this was not good enough for CDone or others who insisted that I should give up these behaviors which make me happy and for the first time in several decades, I feel healthy and well. They illogically insist that I should stop telling people about it. So I will.

----------------------

I honestly don't see the problem he was having with me, but apparently there are unwritten rules.
