Sounds like you're not producing enough stomach acid. If so, you might need to supplement with Betaine HCL, and some minerals such as zinc, potassium, magnesium, etc. which are needed to produce stomach acid. There are several reasons this can... (more)

That is odd, I had severe heartburn until I started paleo. Whole30, so you aren't consuming alcohol? Where do you get your water from? What is your typical diet like? Any bananas or tomatoes by chance?

Apple cider vinegar, the organic kind. You can also get it in tablet form. It will cure indigestion better than tums without skewing the acid balance in your system.

Coconut flour is high in relatively high in the FODMAP Fructan. Many folks (including me) do not digest FODMAPS very well. Fructose malabsorption is genetic, from what I've read. (more)

Have you been tested for h. pylori antibodies? Coconut oil can be anti-bacterial and while h. pylori has a bad rap, if it's been there a while it's probably moderating the acid content of the stomach for you. Just a theory though.
