I often have trouble eating enough. I stay physically full longer than I should. It's frustrating. I'm just looking for tips on digesting faster/more completely and/or stimulating appetite. I currently use digestive enzymes and eat plenty of... (more)
So I've been having a lot of problems since I went paleo... not that I'm blaming the diet, I love it, but I feel like I'm missing something important. Basically, pre-paleo I've never experienced indigestion. Ever. I went primal a month ago.... (more)
TLDR? I lack appetite, have some indigestion, slow peristalsis maybe? It's been getting better with Paleo but I want to feel hungry again! What can I do to get hungry and increase my caloric intake? I follow a mostly PHD-inspired diet.... (more)

I've been taking super papaya enzymes plus tablets as of late cause I was told they were the same as digestive enzymes and would help with low stomach acid. I've been using them for a month(3 a day) and have had no problems. The other day I upped... (more)

I'm 24 YO female, I had been Paleo (to address my PCOS) for about 2 months and then fell off the wagon a couple of days back. Not that I'm craving my non-Paleo delicacies but that Paleo gave me an immense case of constipation and a bad acidity. I... (more)
For the past 10 years I was in the habit of popping a couple Tums (Antacid Supplement) whenever I experienced heartburn, indigestion, or an upset stomach. Is there a good alterative that would offer a better reprieve? If so, what would you... (more)
Apple cider vinegar, the organic kind. You can also get it in tablet form. It will cure indigestion better than tums without skewing the acid balance in your system.
I just ate out with friends a few hours ago and am feeling horrible right now. I ordered from a gluten free menu- got an omelet with broccoli and a side of avocado and potatoes. I didn't even eat that much but now I can't get out of bed and I have... (more)
Might it be good for health for other reasons? Or might clay be bad for health in some way? Will it significantly affect stomach acid? Edit: I took a couple tablespoons in water yesterday and I had a couple bowel movements today, which is... (more)

I've been strictly Paleo for a number of weeks now, and just today decided to 'cheat' a little by having half a tsp. of Manuka honey. Immediately, I felt sick to my core. At the time I ate it, I hadn't had food for a good four hours or so, so I'm... (more)
You spiked your blood sugar (and therefore insulin) & are experiencing a blood sugar drop. No worries. It's normal if you've been low carb for awhile. Eat some protein and/or fat & you will feel better.
I've had reflux since I was a kid, and been on Prilosec for 7 years or so now. After an endoscopy a few years ago I was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiatus_hernia). I've been moving to a Paleo diet over the last... (more)
I've been about 80% paleo since September 2010 (I ate dairy, rice, and added raw sugar to coffee). In the end of June I gave it all up. I also stopped eating nuts and significantly cut down my fruit intake. With the exception of butter, ghee, and... (more)
I just came across this comment from Don Matesz on his most recent blog post: ...I think that increasing starch while simultaneously still getting ~50% or more of calories from fat reduces the digestibility of the starch, resulting in larger... (more)
