Have you tried increasing the fat percentage in your meals? You may find (as I did) that you no longer need any snacks. I now get by quite nicely on 3 feeds per day instead of the 5 or 6 I used to have.

The initial period of keto-adaption can range from a couple of days to a few weeks - for me it was about a week. I no longer do sustained keto but now can go in and out with ease. Consider yourself lucky! :)

Dr. Volek says most folks will fall into ketosis within 72 hours at <50g total carb. They will keto-adapt in 2-6 weeks. 50g+ will toss most people out.

I did that and didn't regain any fat. As long as you stay under 150 g of carbs, you should be fine.

Why do you want to eat carbs to lift weights? Unless your doing something extremely glycogen demanding I don't really see the need. If you were going to eat them easy them right after so they go straight to the muscles. I just lift while in ketosis. (more)

I never had headaches when vlc. Try adding some starchy carbs back for 2-3 days & see if they disappear. If they don't, you may want to look deeper to see if something other than diet is causing them...

i have been vlc for the better part of six months and have not had significant weight loss; some recomp, but certainly nothing magical. you still need to manage calorie intake to be in deficit even while eating vlc.
