I normally do a 20/4 or sometimes a 23/1 schedule if I'm feeling saucy. However, most days I feel tired when I wake up and when I exert myself such as a lot of walking or climbing many stairs. I am unsure if I should supplement more than Sodium and Potassium? Or should I do something else? Thanks!

i could not go that long not eating without feeling like a zombie. try lengthening your eating window to maybe 6 hours and see if you feel better. i usually do an 8 hour eating window because i'm pretty active during the day and wouldn't make it until dinner without feeling sluggish and lightheaded.

When you go very low carb, you do need to raise salt and potassium levels, so yeah, spot on. If you do VLC, you shouldn't also do IF. So either pick VLC or IF, or you'll fail miserably.

But why such an intense IF window? Are you really eating 3 meals worth of food in 1 hour?

Also, studies on IF show that there's not much added benefit beyond 16 hours, and you might drop into muscle catabolism depending on activity levels.

Eat more, change your schedule. Nobody is grading you on how many hours you can go without eating so ease up until it works for YOU. I do 16/8 everyday and have zero problems with it. As I approach 18 hours I start to feel like I need to eat, so I backed off to 16.

What time of day do you eat? I do a 24 hour IF a few times per week and have found that if I make it breakfast (within 2 hours of waking) it works best for me because then I have the energy I need to work all day. I get the same tiredness and weakness at the end of the day, but by then I don't need as much energy so it doesn't matter as much. Also, I stay very hydrated.
