I'm new to Paleo but not new to an healthy eating, low carbs style, Atkins, Dukan, low fat style... Name it, I've tried them all!!
My hashimoto thyroid is giving me a lot of troubles as I've gained weight when I started to re introduced various amount of carbs per day (some fruits, some ryvitas, yogurts etc).
The problems is that my body downstairs respond like normal bodies unfortunately and everything might be guilty to make me gain weight.
Now I'm starting this new lifestyle and I'm doing the stricter version for people with autoimmune diseases (no nuts, seeds, nightshades, eggs, dairy etc).
I did the atkins a couple of weeks ago and didnt work for me; but I was able to get into ketosis usually with less of 20grams of carbs per day (mostly veggies)and 3splenda maximum per day.
Now I have a couple of questions and I hope you might help me:
1)do you think that coconut flakes or milk is going to affect ketosis for his sugar content?
2)do you think that I could have some 100%chocolate or same question as above? (I'm not having fruits and I don't want to for at least 30days as I've noticed it is not good for me..)
Basically I was searching to satisfy my sweeth tooth somehow but I don't know of it is going to stop or prevent my ketosis...!!
I'm not using sweeteners of any kind not even stevia; I mainly have 100grams of salmon or chicken for lunch with some veggies and 250 meat or fish grams for dinner.
I am just scared that the calories from fat like oil, coconut and ghee might be too much for me and my body!!
Thanks for you support:))

Like coconut oil?
I am using coconut butter instead of coconut for cooking cause it is more neutral.
But I ofer the taste of the oil...
Also I am taking omega fish supplement but the scale isn't moving...my thyroid is a mess and something isn't working cause I am eating super healthy following the autoimmune protocol and nothing happened.

Won't do much for a sweet tooth, but I like to grind up Cocoa Nibs in a spice grinder and eat my chocolate that way. It seems to release flavors you don't get otherwise. Goes good with some almonds or nut butter.
I have just found out it doesn't:(
100% chocolate is not going to satisfy your sweet tooth. It won't knock you out of ketosis either. Does your autoimmune protocol allow for coconut flakes and chocolate?
