Can you recommend any healthy Paleo make-up remover? I want something that is not solid at room temperature (not coconut oil or my favorite shea butter). Right now I am using almond oil, but it is not cold pressed so... not sure how healthy it... (more)

for eye makeup, especially dark eyeliner and mascara, i've found that putting a small layer of lotion or moisturizer over it all and then wiping it off with a tissue works best. i use a health-food-store-esque moisturizer like alba or dr weil.... (more)

I am in full-sun for at least an hour everyday, and use regular sunscreen for my body, but on my face I use mineral make-up powder that contains: titanium dioxide and zinc dioxide. My face never burns, is it the zinc? Who else uses mineral makeup... (more)

I don't usually wear make-up but both titanium dioxide and zinc dioxide are sun blocks. So yes, your make-up is giving you some protection. Because it is a sun "block" it acts as a physical barrier, as opposed to a chemical barrier to the sun.... (more)

Satapa, I wear pretty much full-on warpaint every business day: foundation, concealer, powder, blush, eyeliner -- the works. I do this even though I'm fairly freaked out by the heavy metals in commercial cosmetics, so I'm slowly replacing the crap... (more)
