How much MCT oil do you take? I've been doing 2 tbs in bulletproof coffee every morning. Now I've started adding another tbs straight later in the day.

I'm going by Dave Asprey's recipe. He says build up to 2 tbs MCT and 2 tbs butter and I have built up to that. I'm trying to do 50% fat for macros. I don't usually count but I did track everything yesterday which was a typical day of eating... (more)

Absolutely! (on the cinnamon) People don't realize that cinnamon alone tastes sweet. I eat my sweet potatoes (in moderation of course!) drenched in ghee and cinnamon. Saigon Cinnamon is the absolute best cinnamon. And it is great for keeping... (more)

Yes, Now MCT is fine, but don't expect some turbo charged effect or anything, it's not that much more energetic or ergogenic than coconut oil. There's no "wow I'm really awake" factor like there is with coffee, despite Dave Asprey singing its... (more)

An extra +300 calories mixed into a few drinks doesn't seem like it would be too helpful toward losing weight, where that's the equivalent of maybe 75 grams of protein or a little less than what you'd burn on a 5k run. At a -200 calorie daily... (more)

MCT Oil - You need to build up a tolerance. Start with a teaspoon and go up from there. This will NOT hinder your VLC state at all...it actually will enhance it by increasing ketone production. Do NOT take it at night because you will probably... (more)

Just to offer some thoughts on a portion of your question: would MCT or Coconut Oil have any benefit over the other (fast and nutrient-absorption wise)? MCT oil is more ketogenic, since coconut oil is 58% MCTs, 42% long-chain fats. So, it... (more)
