Yes, Now MCT is fine, but don't expect some turbo charged effect or anything, it's not that much more energetic or ergogenic than coconut oil. There's no "wow I'm really awake" factor like there is with coffee, despite Dave Asprey singing its... (more)

Has anyone added MCT oil to their coffee or salads to enter ketosis faster and more effectively? I feel like I'm not consuming enough fat; however, I find fatty meats disgusting. For breakfast I have eggs, and for lunch and dinner, I typically... (more)

An extra +300 calories mixed into a few drinks doesn't seem like it would be too helpful toward losing weight, where that's the equivalent of maybe 75 grams of protein or a little less than what you'd burn on a 5k run. At a -200 calorie daily... (more)

My daughter and I both experienced pretty bad abdominal pain/ache with MCT oil, no matter how small the dose. (She was using in coffee, I was putting it in smoothies). We gave up on it and just have coconut oil instead.

MCT Oil - You need to build up a tolerance. Start with a teaspoon and go up from there. This will NOT hinder your VLC state at all...it actually will enhance it by increasing ketone production. Do NOT take it at night because you will probably... (more)

The most accurate answer to this question should always start with, "everyone is different". That being said, MTC alone should not kick you out of ketosis, actually some think it might help keep you there. For a complete paleo with that ratio and... (more)

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that MCT oil is dreadfully high in saturated fat (as in, 70% of your daily allowance in 1 tablespoon). This may have health benefits, but heart health is not one of them. If you have a history of family... (more)

Reduce the amount until you are used it it and use it as a additive, like add it to your soup or on your veggies AFTER cooking or mix it with butter to add flavor. MCT oil is more effective if also mixed with coconut oil for a sustained release. (more)
