High protein is a waste. Sufficient protein is better. If you want to stay low carb then do high fat. Easy to do... Couple tbsp of olive oil plus lots of veggies with each meal.
Eating excess protein without accompanying carbs or fats will not only have problem to your liver and kidneys but also you will not be able to get sufficient fat soluble micronutrients which are also important for other important process.
I like to buy whole chickens - Whole Foods, Sprouts and Jimbo's have very good organic ones. Simply put half a lemon in the cavity, rub salt, pepper and parsley generously over the body and stick it in the oven at 400 degrees for about 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes. It doesn't get any easier! I also put a clove of garlic in the oven when there's about 45 minutes left. It gets soft, like a garlic butter and tastes delicious when spread over the breast.
