Do we need more moderators?

Seems like there's really few/no moderators left. Maybe some folks are willing to take up the slack there?

Users that come to mind: Happy Now, CDone, Dragonfly, Dave S., Eric 12, Jeff 1, greymouser???

Isn't it the case that those of us with 5000 reputation score or higher can edit/close questions? I've been able to do it. And, with the new system there's no longer the nuisance/safeguard of needing several special people to agree with you. So, isn't it now the case that there are lots of us who are moderators?

imo... better for the site to suffer from insufficient moderation than to lose important contributors (due to burnout?)

It's the black hole for users. once someone becomes a moderator, they disappear from the site.

I am officeally removing my name from consideration. I do not have the desire, nor the patience to moderate. Thanks for the consideration though.
