By this, I mean apples, bananas, almonds....things that have either a higher suger content or Omega-6 content. I do CrossFit 4-5 days/week, and I eat either an apple or a banana a day, along with about 20 almonds. So, is moderation meaning... (more)

Personally, if I want to be in a weight loss mode, I can eat VERY LITTLE fruit. I had to change my mindset from "how much can I eat?" to "how little can I eat and stay sane?" Apples and bananas will stall me every time. I usually eat a cup of... (more)

You might check out the NetFlix movie Pururambo. There are also youtube videos like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5aV_850nzv4 which I have not actually watched. (Unfortunately the youtube version of Pururambo is in a language that... (more)

I agree with most of that. Some people take Paleo TOO FAR when they start talking about not bathing and all. I use commercial soaps, makeups and things (mostly Lush, Tom's of Maine, and Bare Minerals, so a little better than conventional but it... (more)

I've spent a few weeks now with this cycle of bingeing on grains and sweets. I go a couple days eating well, then I pig out on unhealthy foods like cookies or anything I can find. Before paleo, I was slightly bulemic (binge-starve), but I had that... (more)

Why do you want to be moderate in your approach? Personally, it sounds like you have an extreme issue, and trying to solve it with a half measure is verbatim "faileo", and yes, you will fail. While there are many differences in what "Paleo" is,... (more)

This is a question and answer site, all posts are expected to be questions. Your friendly mod will turn it into a question if they can or close/delete it if they can't. If you merely wish to share a friendly article/rant/etc. without posing a... (more)

If you have a problem with your non-question being changed into a question that you don't like, then in the future you have the choice to not post things that aren't questions. It's pretty easy and the mods can't be responsible for that.

Robert Lustigs' talk pissed me off the other day. I kept having flashbacks to him saying that fructose is basically "ethanol without the buzz." And then I read someone on this site saying, "My personal opinion is that there is no obesity without... (more)

Aragon says fructose is just dandy up to 100g a day. Ingest that much and report back with your TGs. NHANES doesn't tell you how much fructose the obese consume, it gives some mean or median. It's not the fructose that's bad, it's the uric... (more)

Hi, If someone votes you down or you lose reputation because of something you've said either due to incorrect information or being off topic etc, how do we know why? While I totally agree that the voting should be anonymous, it might be helpful... (more)

Don't worry, you can't do anything right in "the favored Top 20" they'll down vote you for speaking your mind or having an opinion. They're just stupid numbers made to make you feel elite or inadequate. They're just on power trips. Like any gives... (more)

I had been thinking about this for a while however Mellisa put it into better words than me in her answer to a recent question. It seems like everyone is like Art and Loren who recommend trimming fat off of grass-fed meat and avoiding... (more)

As I have moved to paleo, which can be seen as extreme by non-Paleos, people keep banging on about all things in moderation. You know, "live a little" "everything in moderation" etc. It's only taken me 34 years but I realise I cannot do... (more)
