I was just thinking about how carrying something heavy in front of you with your arms flexed at 90 degrees probably would have been a common functional movement in the paleolithic days. Doesn't a standing barbell curl directly mimic that best? ... (more)
I found this New York Times article to be interesting. The article, Debunking the Hunter-Gatherer Workout, has this to say about the "Hadza people of Tanzania, one of the few remaining populations of traditional hunter-gatherers": The Hadza live... (more)
Is this certification worth it? www.functionalmovement.com MovNat actually recommends it as a prerequisite for their certification.
I've been doing Paleo for about 2 months and it's completely changed my life for the better. I find it easy to do and I will continue doing it. However, I have one gripe with it: my belly always feels full and heavy and I can't ever suck it in. ... (more)

Are there any FREE training groups for parkour or MovNat in NYC? Anyone interested in creating one? I have no experience (aside from youtube vids) in either, but am interested in learning.
I've just bought Esther Gokhale's book on improving posture, and it seems to make a lot of sense. It appears similar to the Alexander Technique but very much based on observation of 'natural' people, which I feel is a sound paleo approach. So has... (more)
