Side effects on Paleo plan?

I have been on the Paleo plan for 21 days. To date I do not have more energy but I do have consistent nausea and frequent severe headaches. I am prone to migraines and have had four major migraines in these 21 days combine with a continuous log grade headache. Can I attribute all of this to my body adjusting to Paleo? Thoughts welcome!

If you are going VLC you will have to wait for your body to adjust to burning its own fat for fuel or the fats you consume. It can take up to 8 weeks for full adjustment. I eat VLC, about 25 grams of carbs a day and It took me 4-5 weeks before the headaches and low energy disappeared. Now I feel great without any cravings for carbs, just cravings for fat. I found that eating high fat foods and lots of it helped the adjustment. Then after my body switched from burning carbs to fats I cut down on the amount of fats and food. Then started experimenting with fasting with great results. That worked great for me.

Are you eating enough carbohydrates? While some Paleo-peoples like to do the low-carb thing, it's not "official" part of the Paleo-shtick. I've seen it in others: people ate VLC for weeks on end, never quite giving there body time to adjust, and not sure what they should expect. Headaches and nausea where the main symptoms - sometimes even severe disorientation, too.

Nothing else comes to mind, but if you haven't seen greens daily or a few sweet potato in as many weeks, consider adding those carbohydrates back in.

Curious where you are located. I tend to get migraines where there are severe pressure changes and there's been a major change in the weather where I am, hence I've had a lot of migraines too. Also, did you give anything significant up like caffeine that might contribute to your migraines?

Are you doing any of the snacks? I like paleo plan but understand they are just guidelines. I will also tell you that I'm 6' 1" 210lbs and paleo plan would never be enough food for me and my workouts. So add some food, carbs from sweet potatoes and fats. Fats will help you out a lot. Also let us know a little more of what your eating and your activity level and if you wouldn't mind telling us a bit about yourself height weight etc.
