I have an almost 5 month old baby and I exclusively breastfeed (well, we are starting to introduce solids but she is still getting 97% of her nutrition from breastmilk). I started the whole30 challenge 3 days ago and while I already feel better,... (more)

Thanks everyone. I'm trying to increase calories and if that doesn't help bring my supply back up then I'll add some dairy.

I am a 27-year-old, 5'4" female who has had a weight gain of about 10 pounds in the last 6 months, going from about 121 to 132 lbs. My question is, how much of this could be related to gains in muscle mass (vs. just fat increase)? My weight gain... (more)

I don't think what the scales say really matters. They aren't an accurate measure of fat. More important measures are: The tape measure How your clothes fit How fantastic you look naked The fact that you are fit, energetic, happy and... (more)

My primary goals for Paleo are to increase my energy levels and to improve my blood sugar/insulin regulation, so I'm not too focused on my weight. But I notice that I've gained maybe ten pounds of fat in three months and I'm worried that I might... (more)

Sounds like you are seriously gluten intolerant, so I would highly recommend eliminating any gluten cheats so you can heal your gut. You need good gut health to absorb your food and I suspect that most of your hunger problem is that you aren't... (more)

I started doing Paleo in order to increase my energy and to prevent my PCOS from turning into diabetes, not to lose weight. But I've noticed that a lot of folks around here lose weight without trying to. I'm worried that if I lose weight, toxins... (more)

I don't see a problem with losing a bit of weight. The "toxins-in-the-fat" thing is pretty rare. Most people lose weight with no issues and they're the silent ones on the forums. It's the people who try a paleo-style diet and start to lose... (more)

Hi! This is my first post, so if I made any mistakes, please let me know. :) I'm nursing my 2 month old and am finding that, in order to eat Paleo, I barely have time to do anything but cook, eat, and nurse. I have three related questions: Is... (more)

Please don't fast while nursing! You may negatively impact your milk supply. Both you & babe need a nutrient-dense diet--you need to replenish your nutrient stores & baby is growing. Eat to hunger & add in organ meats & bone... (more)

Hi there -- First question, can women become pregnant while nursing? I think the answer to this is: Yes, they can. Second question: If so, is there some factor that would make this more or less likely? Frequency of nursing, perhaps? Reason... (more)
