How hard was it for grok to get into a coconut? Should we treat coconut meat/butter similar to that of other nuts? The challenge of harvesting the edible portion is so great but worth the nutritional density.

Has anyone tried using avocado as a substitute for nut butters in baking with any success? We have salicylate allergies which includes all nuts and sunflower seeds . I am also after a good subby for almond flour also please .

I'm having similar symptoms when I eat coconut milk and meat, it feels the way it does in my gut when I eat grains, just kinda yucky and bloated. I'm looking for information too! I'm doing GAPS so it sucks not to be able to have it for variety! (more)

I would stay away from nuts they have a lot of calories that just sit. Try coconut flour :) I've lost 2 more pounds just from cutting out nuts and nut flour

Folks cooking with nut flours is really not ideal. If you bake with almond flour or pecan flour at 350 for 20 minutes, you are baking tiny little broken pieces of almonds or pecans at 350 for 20 minutes. Get it? That nut flour is not impervious... (more)
