Organic greens (spinach, kale, salad greens, etc.), liver, grassfed butter, bone broth, meat, wild caught fish - especially salmon. Good quality extra virgin olive oil, red palm oil. What's not paleo: spam!

Another one is - if it is REALLY fresh, there will be sap exuding from the bottom of the stalk. If the bottom of the stalk is dry and woody - it is getting on in age!

I eat 1/2 cup of white rice as the starchy part of my meal a few times a week. My vote is, if you're gonna eat it, cook it the ol' school way in water. I'm sure the rest of your diet is nutrient-packed enough to make up for it.
